Q: What kind of gas mileage do you think a 1995 Nissan Altima would get?
I'll have one in about 2 days and I'm just curious.
A: it should get well above 30 miles to the gallon,Nissan's have the gas mileage thing going on right now, they have 3 models of vehicles that will get over 35 miles to the gallon for this years cars, the 95 will get good mileage, good luck with and enjoy it.
Q: How do I replace the rear speakers in my 1995 Nissan Altima?
I don't know how to get the back grilles off to put the new speakers in. If someone could help...
A: Try going thru the trunk. Fold down your back seat for easier access. dont be afraid to take a hammer to it
Q: Where is the knock sensor located on a 1995 nissan altima?
do you think this sensor can just go bad... or is it really detecting a knock in my engine?
A: Top center of engine under center fuel injectors screwed
into engine head. Yes they go bad but trace wiring from sensor to fuse block first, look for broken wires or dirty connections . You need 12 volts at sensor. Take a hammer when engine is at normal temp and tap beside sensor listen for ignition to retard. Majority of time is bad wiring. It's in your best interest to check wiring thoroughly, that sensor is about $160.
Q: I have a question about my 1995 Nissan altima?
I need to find out more information about the uv joint in my car,is there anywhere I could find info about this online? The car has does'nt have an owner's manual.I'd really like to find a digram or something that would show me the different parts, what they do, and how to fix them.Is there anything like that online?
A: i own a repair shop ,and there's really nothing like that on line that would teach you all of that ,but if you,ll go and get a good Haynes repair manual it was written from them tearing a complete vehicle down like yours ,and it will have all the diagrams in it plus all the technical information you would also need, every book they print is based on an actual tear down and rebuild of the vehicle, and the information in them is priceless, when it comes to needing good accurate info, that's the best way to learn all of what you want to know,if you read the whole book, you could rebuild your entire car from it,they cost about 15 bucks and are worth way more than that ,you should try one ,good luck i hope this helps.
Q: I have a question about changing the brakes on my 1995 nissan altima?
I have to change them myself. Is there any good website to instruct me step by step. Is it difficult to change them?
Also, the brakes are worn all the way down, I will need new rotors also.
A: It's not a particularly difficult job but there are some things you need to do properly.
1. How to jack up the car safely.
2. How to remove the old rotors - this varies by manufacturer.
3. How to install the new pads so they won't squeal.
4. What brake fluid to use.
5. What to torque the caliper bolts to.
5. How to bleed the brakes. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!
I seriously recommend that you get a manual for your Nissan and enlist the help of an experienced friend. Without specialized equipment bleeding the brakes is a 2 person job.
Q: How do I change the fuel pump in 1995 Nissan Altima?
I have very little money and I need to change the fuel pump myself. I DO NOT have an owners manual. Are there any websites that may help me?
A: http://www.autozone.com/az/cds/en_us/0900823d/80/1b/63/9d/0900823d801b639d/repairInfoPages.htm
Q: Where do I add transmission fluid to my 1995 Nissan Altima?
There is no indication in the owner's manual. How much dose it hold at full?
A: I am assuming it is a automatic and not a standard if there is a dipstick it will have a red handle on it and can be hard to find it seems like every year car manufactures move things around just to confuse people....if it is a standard it wont have a dipstick tube..IF YOU FIND THE DIPSTICK TUBE THATS WHERE YOU ADD THE FLUID ON A AUTOMATIC THROUGH THE DIPSTICK....
Q: 1995 Nissan Altima bogs down when accelerating and dies, but will rev up great when increasing throttle slow?
well none of you were right. i should have thought of this at first but didn't. it was the cap and rotor on the distributor. the rotor was all burned up and the contacts were in bad shape.
A: Either the spark plugs, air filter, or both…easy fixes.
Q: How to determine the model of a 1995 Nissan Altima?
A girlfriend of mine needs to have the CV joints replaced on her car. Was talking to some friends at the parts store and it listed different part numbers for different makes. Meaning SE, XE, GXE, etc. I looked over her car and could find nothing to indicate which type it is. It is a plain car - no ground effects packages, spoiler, etc. No lettering on the outside that indicates the model. Paperwork/owners manual doesn't indicate anything either. Any idea on how to find out? Would the VIN be able to tell you anything?
The car is due into the shop on the 12th so I need to figure out which parts to get on order so she has them in time.
A: If she has power windows, locks, and cruise, but no leather it is a GXE. There is really no mechanical difference between the XE and GXE so the CV joints should be interchangable. The SE often comes with a tighter suspension, but all Altima's of this generation have the same motor.
Q: 17 yrs. old girl looking for her first car. how does a 1995 nissan altima a good first car?
I saw the ad in the browser. It says motor sound, new water pump, new tires, has fuel pump problems asking $1,000 o.b.o. My questions are: Is a 1995 nissan altima a good car? how much would it cost to get the fuel pump problems fixed?
A: I just got the fuel pump and gas tank replaced on my pickup and it roughly spent around $1200 to fix both all together . the 1995 altima is a great first car. nissans are very reliable
Q: i need to see where the started is located on my 1995 nissan altima?
where is my starter located on my 1995 altima
A: The starter motor/solenoid is located to the left of the oil filter. You'll need to have the vehicle up on stands to access it. Remove two wires. Wire #1 is a clip. To release the clip, push down on the small release tab on the backside of the clip assembly and pull apart. Wire # 2 is connected to the solenoid. Pry off the protective cap with a small screwdriver and undo the nut (1/2"). From there you're supposed to be able to access the starter motor bolts from the back side of the bell housing.
Q: I have a 1995 Nissan Altima, a 95 Ford F-150, and a 01 jeep Grand Cherokee. Where is the A/C cabin filter?
1995 Nissan Altima GXE
2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee laredo
1995 Ford F-150 8-Cylinder 5.0 Liter
A: Three different vehicles. Are you sure they all have cabin air filters? You need to ask a mechanic or the service department of a dealer for each of these vehicles about this. Good luck.
Q: what do you think of the 1995 nissan altima?
See Im poor and am looking for a cheap car that wont need a million repairs...how about the 95 nissan altima. I have a friends friend selling theirs for 500$ says it works fine, 175.000km....what do you guys think?
A: Poor works good, like so many of us are....you can't expect a lot for $500 these days but if it works good and does not blow smoke out of the tail pipe there is no reason not to expect another 25,000 miles from it barring abuse of course
Q: where can I find free owners manuals for 1995 Nissan Altima?
I also need to find out how to check the fluids in my 1995 Nissan Altima, the owners manual did not come with the car when I recently bought it from private owner.
A: Everyone asks this... there is no where to get it for free. You have to call the dealership and order one. They are usually only like 15 bucks if you don't buy the leather cover and all that.
Q: How to change brakes on a 1995 nissan altima?
I HAVE A 1995 NISSAN ALTIMA, AND THE BRAKES NEED TO BE CHANGED CAN ANYONE ASSIST ME IN STEP BY STEP DETAIL OR REFER ME TO A WEBSITE?
A: The usual advice in most car repair manuals (e.g. Haynes) when it comes to working on brakes is if you have to ask how to work on the brakes, it's better to take it to a trained mechanic and ask them nicely if they'll show you how to do it yourself next time....... otherwise it could cause a few problems if you get it wrong (most of which may involve a ride in an ambulance).
There a few different designs of brake calipers on disk brakes to change the pads........ the easiest are the type with a couple of pins at the top of the caliper, which you just knock out with a hammer & punch... then try pull the pads out (may need a pair of grips / large pliers and jiggle them a bit)....... then you just get the new pads, put a little bit of copper grease on the back of them, slip them inside the caliper, put the pins back in place (making sure they ain't gonna fall out), and pump the pedal up.
The other kind involves removing a couple of bolts, which aren't as easy to change if you've never changed brakes before (and may accidently damage the brake pipes a little if you aren't careful with it)... in which case get a mechanic to do it.
As for the back brakes, if it's a drum type.... also leave them to a mechanic, as they can be a little tricky too.
