Q: What's faster a 2004 Nissan altima 2.5 or a 2005 Acura EL?
No I do mean EL Its a canda only model. It's basically a rebadged civic with extra features same 1.7L engine but tuned for like 10-15 more hp or something here's a good pic http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Acura_1.7EL.jpg I

A: Do you mean Acura TL? If so, the TL is way faster. Oh, we don't have those here in the USA. The Altima 2.5 would win. The EL is bascially the same as a US spec Civic EX = not very fast.

Q: I am planning to buy a 2004 Nissan Altima 2.5S for $9300, but the car has 84,000 miles, is this a good buy?
How long can this car last and is the mileage too high the car is very clean looking at the pictures and the person was sincere in explaining about the car

A: Search for "Kelley Blue Book" to get an estimate of the car's worth. Then, if it sound good, go to the cartalk website below, and find a mechanic in your area to inspect the car. If you're willing to spend $9K on it, you should be willing to spend $50-100 to have it inspected first.

A: i use blue coral upholstery cleaner on my customer cars. u can get it in any part store

Q: 2004 Nissan Altima loosing coolant after replacing gaskets...?
I have a 2004 Nissan Altima. Was loosing coolant a lot. Mechanic said I blew gaskets from an internal leak & replaced a lot of gaskets. After running the car tonite, I'm STILL loosing coolant. When I stopped at the store I checked & I was full. When I got home I was down to 1/2 way between MAX & MIN lines on the resevoir tank. I also hear a rattling noise when I hit about 20MPH, but no sounds below or above it. What else could be wrong???? Head gasket was replaced as well-the service engine light came on & I was loosing power. The engine runs great again, but still having issues with coolant.

A: It's common that the coolant level drops right after repair - there was some air in the system, you can just top it up, but if the coolant level continues to drop, you should go back to the same garage and ask them to recheck it. As for rattle, it could be some exhaust shield or something like this - same thing ask them to recheck it.

Q: Why does my Nissan Altima 2004 blow cold air when I am at a stop light.?
Just replaced the thermostat and still have the problem.

A: I'm surprised no one thought to mention the heater core...? Or the possibility that the new thermostat could be faulty...it's quite common with new thermostats for them to go out frequently. Just with any part, sometimes you get a dud...

Q: Nissan Altima 2004 Not pulling codes from computer. What's wrong?
Nissan Altima 2004 V6 does not start engine. Battery, starter and Gas supply are OK. Keys were reporgrammed but will still having No codes from computer. What's wrong ?? Never Mind !!!! Spark plug exchanged and my car are running like a new car !!! Thanks to all for your help !!!

A: It's a 2004? It could be wrong model information, wrong software or bad lug and connectors. Newer models needs an OBDII (2). Check to make sure you have the right scanner.

Q: how can I tell if my 2004 nissan altima has keyless entry? ?
I have a nissan altima, I was told it has keyless but I never received a remote when I bought the car. I read online that if it has the factory "security light" that I have the option. I would like to buy a remote from say eBay and program it. I have the instructions on how to program it. Any insight would be much appreciated.

A: if you buy it on ebay you never know if it is working. my opinion is to buy it at the dealer or at a local salvage yard!

Q: On a 2004 Nissan Altima is the radiator or any part of the radiator part of the warranty?
Reason i'm asking for some reason smoke is emitting from the radiator and you can smell the coolant when you turn on the heater

A: should be a bumper to bumper warranty so long as you're within the mileage. Take it to a dealer and they have to by law tell you if you're still covered by factory warranty

Q: 2004 Nissan Altima SE or a 2004 Nissan Maxima SE?
I am trying to decide between a 2004 Nissan Altima SE or a 2004 Nissan Maxima SE. They both have no leather and the Altima has 76 000 kms, while the Maxima has 95 000 kms. Please offer me any opinions you might have. They are both the same price at $13 995 CDN

A: Maxima has a bigger engine doesn't it? Usually a 3.5L V6 w/ about 150 horsepower. Altima is probably a 4 cyl (but I could be wrong.) But that would explain why the higher mileage Maxima is the same price. Do you need the power the Maxima offers? If so you'd better go with that. Did you test drive them both? If so which did you prefer? IF you are happy with those prices I'd select the Maxima cause its a nicer car - unless you liked the way the Altima drove/rode better.

Q: Is a 2004 Nissan Altima with 134,000 miles okay to buy?
I am planning to buy this from a dealer.

A: I guess you should also check insurance quotes for Altima before buying one, for example here: http://autoinsurance.hotusa.org As I remember it is expensive to insure.

Q: My 2004 nissan altima displayed code for crank sensor after replacement SES light returned?
Diagnostic now shows speed sensor and crank sensor any advice?

A: Hmm Crank sensor CAN mean alot, every manufacturer has a different dictionary. Crank can mean the cranking speed in which the engine turns on. It can also mean the crankshaft on which the engine receives the power from. Speed sensor might go along with the problem with the crankshaft as the car's speed is directly related to the engine's power, and of course various others. First check your driver's manual for the complete definition of each light. If what I said matches what it says in that manual, you should take your car to a shop. That is if and only if you don't have the proper tools, and knowledge, to take apart your car. I hope your car feels better soon

Q: What would be estimated labor on replacing a radiator in a 2004 Nissan Altima?
We found the radiator in ebay for $87.99 (which includes shipping), but we're curious about the labor.

A: Most places charge about 3/4 the price of the part for the labor. However, the ebay price is misleading since things there are cheaper than most service stations. My dad replaces them for about $130 for the labor. He owns a small shop in Alabama, so a larger shop that turns out more jobs may be able to do your job a bit cheaper, but I'd say you wont be able to find labor for that job for less than $110.

Q: What's wrong when a 2004 Nissan Altima cuts off?
I have a 2004 Nissan Altima that will jerk back and forth before cutting off altogehter. The brake light comes on and sometimes it takes about four or five tries to turn the car back on.

A: Go to MSN autos and check for any recalls for your vehicle year and model.

Q: 2004 Nissan Altima losing coolant after gaskets replaced?
I have a 2004 Nissan Altima. Was loosing coolant a lot. Mechanic said I blew gaskets from an internal leak & replaced a lot of gaskets. After running the car tonite, I'm STILL loosing coolant. A: the coolant level will go up and down,,as the thermostat opens and closes on your car,,and sometimes the level in the jar you see wont all be the same,,before you add to it,,look at it real good,,if it does not go down a whole lot,,drive it and see it it stays where it is before you go adding t it,,you can over fill it,,and then it will blow out coolant ,,and you will think you have another problem,,check and make sure it is not leaking under the car,,if its not,,call the shop where you had the work done and let them know that you are concerned about it,,this way they have been notified of the problem,,so they cant wiggle out of repairing it,,but like i said it may just not be all the way full,,but it does not mean that you still have a leak,,i do this for a living,,so i have ran in to this before keep an eye on it,,and if it continues to loose coolant,,take it back to them,,i hope this help,s.
