Q: Tire Pressure in a 2006 Nissan Altima?
What is the safest/best tires pressure to keep my 2006 Nissan Altima at?
A: The recommended tire inflation info is usually posted on the inside edge of the driver's door, on a sticker. You do not want to put the tire inflation that is listed on the tire itself, as it is the Max pressures the tires are set by the manufacturer of the tires. Hope this helps.

Q: Brake light issues on a 2006 Nissan Altima?
I have an 06 nissan altima, we had to replace the brake light in it, and when we did we broke one of the plastic clips in the trunk that holds the carpet up. Does anyone know where I can find these clips or what they are called?
A: You might find the carpet clips at Nissan Dealership and the cargo net loops are also available at Nissan.
Q: How do you replace the brake light on my 2006 Nissan Altima?
The Fabric in the trunk is held up by plastic clips which I can't figure out how to remove. How do you remove those clips? Everything else form there I know what to do. My main concern is breaking the clips...
A: there is an access panel in the trunk so you can unscrew the tail lights then remove them and you can change the light the clips just pop in use a screw driver or if you have a clip tool it would be better or put needle nose pliers under them to pop them out

Q: Is anyone else getting poor gas mileage on the 2006 Nissan Altima?
I got my 2006 Altima in April and now it has about 10,000 miles on it now. It seemed like I was constantly filling up so I decided to calculate. I filled up then drove for about 200 miles then filled up again at about 1/4 of a tank. The tank took about 13 gallons. 200/13= about 15 MPG. This is very poor in comparison to the 20-28 mpg promised. I do have some what of a lead foot but still these mileage rates are comparable to my father's Cadillac. Has anyone else had this problem? What could it be? Oh and I took it to Nissan today and they said they couldn't find anything wrong...Help!!
A: The EPA Mileage Figures are always way Higher than actual Real-World Use. That's supposed to change next Year. If You are determined to Prove your Point, here's what to do. Run Your Gas Tank on down to about 1/4 Tank, since going any lower than that could burn up Your Fuel Pump. Okay, once You do that, take a Photo of Your Dash, with the Key On, and a Copy of that Day's Local Newspaper in the same Photo. Make sure the Gas Gauge and Odometer are in the Photo. Okay, then Fill it on up, and make sure You get a Receipt. Then, Drive the Car until the Gas Gauge gets to the same Spot. Take another Photo, showing the Mileage on the Odometer, and Fuel Gauge, again with a Copy of the Newspaper in the Photo.Fill up again, at the same Place, and if at all Possible, the same Gas Pump. Again, get a Receipt, then, do the Math. If it still comes up 15 MPG, then You've got a Case. That Car is supposed to get at least 20 MPG in Town {Stop & Go} Right ? Now, if You've got all the Facts & Figures & Photos together, then You've got a Case. I know it sounds like a lot of Hassle, but You've Spent a lot of CA$H for that Car, and You want it right ! Now, if the Nissan Dealership accuses You of supplying Fraudulent Information, then go to the Better Business Bureau, and the State Attorney General's Office. See, for You to Fake the Photos, Odometer, Receipts, and Newspapers would take a lot Hassle. Also, do You know anyone else that has a Car like Yours that keeps track of their Mileage ? That could add to Your Case. Hope this helps !
Q: Hi, Our 2006 Nissan Altima will turn over but not start?
Our 2006 Nissan Altima, with less than 30,000 miles, will turn over but not start. My husband gave the engine some gas and then it started. Before that my son tried starting it about 4 times but it wouldn't start. Any suggestions on what could be the problem. My son is a substitute teacher, and doesn't know whether to accept a job each A.M. because he doesn't know if the car will start each morning. Thank you. Do you know what the problem could be?
A: sounds like a coolant temp sensor if it is bad it thinks it is cold out side and will food the intake check to see if you smell fuel at rear of car wile trying to start if you it most likely your prob good luck
Q: 2006 Nissan Altima vibration at certain times?
I have a 2006 Altima 2.5 and when im at a constant speed and while slowing down my car makes a vibrating sound. As i drive faster the noise gets louder.
Im not quite sure what it is.
A: it's a sound?
if it was just a vibration I would say to get your suspension components checked, ie your ball joints, control arms and brakes.
it could also be a belt loose or damaged. you can inspect your belts at a glance. just don't stick your hand in there unless you know what you're doing.
take your car in to get a service or inspection and make sure to explain exactly what happens. That requires an in-person diagnosis.
Q: Why is water coming out underneath of Nissan Altima 2006?
I just bought a 2006 Nissan Altima. It does run all right. However, sometimes I noticed there was water coming out underneath of my car after I parked the car. I called dealer and they said it's normal because water is from AC compressor. Is it really normal? Even I didn't turn on AC but I still noticed water coming out underneath a few times. Could someone help me? Thanks in advance!
It seems not coming out of exhaust pipe because the location is more like underneath the middle of windshield (but I don't what parts are underneath of windshield, transmission? AC?).
I did turn on defrost. Thanks very much for your help!
A: Those times you noticed it but didn't turn on the A/C, did you turn on the defroster? The Defroster uses the A/C to defrost and so it's the same as turning on the A/C.
Water due to condensation after using the A/C is normal as the dealer stated, so I wouldn't worry.
The next time you see the "water" make sure it is indeed water. Keep a paper napkin in your car. Next time you see the "water" coming from your car, put the paper napkin in the fluid.
If it's water there won't be any color.
Touch it to make sure it doesn't feel "slippery"
If it feels slippery, but no color then it could be brake fluid or power steering fluid.
If the color is red, then it's transmission fluid or radiator fluid. Hard to describe but transmission fluid will feel more oily.
If the color is greenish (the green fluid is not used much these days) then it's the radiator fluid.
And of course brownish fluid is the oil.
Q: what system is best for a 2006 nissan altima?
i need to know what is a good system for a 2006 nissan altima. i want something that bumps and sounds great. any ideas or web sites that i should check out?
A: I think a 15 inch alpine type E or type R sub would sound great. with an alpine amp with enough power to power the sub. alpine cd decks are always good and the type E or type R speakers in the doors will make a great system. Alpine is one of the best in the business.
Q: Is this a good price for a 2006 Nissan Altima?
It is a 2006 Nissan Altima SE. It has 20,000 miles on it. It has sunroof, fog lights, power seat, cd player. I believe it is the sports package. I drove it yesterday and loved it. The dealer is asking 18,000 for it, and if he adds leather 18,900.
Should I try and talk him below 18,000 or is that already a good price for that car? I have no idea how good Altima's are or anything so help would be great. Thanks.
A: Go on www.kbb.com and put all the information you have on the Nissan. It will tell you what the retail price for it should be...check it out and you will figure out how far to negotiate.
Q: Is there any difference between the 2005 and 2006 nissan altima?
I have to buy a driver side mirror and i was wondering if i can buy a 2005 nissan altima mirro and put it on a 2006
A: 2005 and 2006 are still in the 3rd generation Altima family.
Only differences were from 2005 till 2007
After 2004 the Altima's got a new front bumper, hood and headlamps, interior panels were redesigned (the rest of the interior stayed the same).
They also came with different looking hubcaps on the 2.5s models and tail lights with red turn signal blinkers instead of amber.
Also all models equipped with Nissan's V6 engine (VQ35DE) starting from 2005 got mated with a 5 speed Automatic instead of the 4-speed auto from 02-04.
So is there anything different between 05 and 06? Nope.
You can buy a driver side mirror from any year from 2002 till 2006. The only parts that arent interchange-able are the hood, headlights, and front bumper.
Q: Where is the fuel filter on 2006 Nissan Altima?
I need to know where the fuel filter on a 2006 Nissan Altima is. I have the 4 cyclinder engine.
My fuel mileage has dropped anywhere from 50-100 miles per tank and I have recently changed the oil and the air filter and had an injector service. Any clue as to what is going on?
A: fuel filter is inside the fuel tank.. Old spark plugs / Low tire pressure / even the car being dirty can cause a drop in fuel mileage ..
Q: I own a 2006 nissan altima. What brake pads and rotors should I purchase? Dealership or Autozone?
I'm Certain i ownly need brake pads but for future refrence on the rotors. Thanks in Advance!!!!
Nissan Altima 2006 2.5S
Mileage:36000
4 Cylinder
PS: I'm looking for good if not the best performance for my car.
A: OEM IS ALWAYS THE BEST the pads and rotors last longer and stop better.
but you must suit your budget if you need pads buy top of the line at a wholesale distributer for OEM Nissan parts not the dealer they cost 3 times more but if thats all you can do it's worth it to have the pads OEM.
The rotors can go ether way just buy top of the line at Auto Zone or Advanced Auto Parts.
Or you can put on anything that stops the car for cheep but you get what you pay for with that on millage, drive ability pulsation and it even stops the car slower and warps the rotors fast. With cheap parts you don't really save much money !
We put on junk at the doge dealer because the price of pads, OEM dodge is hard to sell and they get what they pay for in 20k miles to pay for a brake job at $220 a pop when the OEM pads get 34k at $ 340 and you were the rotors more evenly so you have got to figure that you have the 40k for cheap at $ 47 each and the OEM at 60k at a $100 each.
It is good for mechanics, more brake jobs it's easy money.
So thats why in the long run I say buy OEM pads and top of the line after market cheap rotors if your a do it your selfer.
GOOD LUCK AND I HOPE THIS HELPED
