Q: 2007 Nissan Altima Stock Stereo Radio. Is it any good?
Anyone have the stock stereo in the 2007 Altima? Is it any good?

A: yes I do have one and the sound quality is good, you should keep your stock system because sometimes the best sound quality comes from a stock stereo than from other systems like Sony.

Q: Why isn't my 2007 Nissan Altima onlt getting 356 miles on a tank of gas instead of 487 miles?
I change my oil have gotten 2 fuel injections done. Tires are properly inflates. Need help!!! I spend about $72 to fill up!!!! I wanted my 487 miles like it suppose to have when I fill my Altima up!!!! Not 356 miles till I get empty!!!!!!!!

A: Because of your driving habits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 If your looking at only the EPA highway number on the window sticker and multiplying that by the number of gallons in the tank to get what you think your mileage should be your using the Chimpanzee part of the brain. City driving, stop and go, prolonged idling, low speed driving, all reduce fuel economy. So, unless you NEVER get off the highway and NEVER let the car sit and idle you will NEVER get 487 miles out of a tank.

Q: Can you put a double din screan in a new 2007 Nissan Altima?
When I was looking at the new Altimas I was not sure if a screan would fit or not. I am not talking about the Altima with the screan already in it.

A: Well your best bet is to check with circuit city and see if they have the conversion kit for a double din it is very possible.

Q: 2007 Nissan Altima. How do I set the doors to automatically lock as I shift into drive?

A: You might have better luck posting this question in "Maintenance and Repairs" rather than "Car Audio". Or try locating an Owners Manual for the car. The instructions for changing convenience features will be explained in there if that feature has a programmable option.

Q: how do i replace the headlight bulbs on a 2007 nissan altima? without going to the dealer or paying a mechanic
ive been looking online and cant find anything... anybody out there know how?

A: The entire headlight buckets are easily removed from the top of the engine compartment. Nylon clips and or screws hold them in place. Don't mess with the headlight adjusting screws. The whole assembly comes out and the bulbs turn out by twisting them an eighth of a turn. Be careful not to touch the new bulbs with your hands. Dab on a little silicone ignition grease on the contact points before forcing the new bulbs back in the sockets. Use a paper towel to insert them in the sockets. Grease and or oil from your hands will cause the new bulbs to over heat and break.

Q: How do you reset/turn off the change oil light on a 2007 Nissan Altima?
I just changed the oil five days ago and its still flashing.

A: Take it back to where you had your oil change done, they should do this for free. Simply hold down the dash button, turn the key on while holding it down, wait ten secs, and boom it's reset. I would also never go back to that shop again as they sound imcompetant.

Q: I am looking to buy a 2007 Nissan Altima, are they good in the snow?
I dont wnt to buy a car unsafe or bad in the crappy New york weather.I have 2 kids to taxi around!!Thanks for your input.

A: Only as good as the tires you put on it.

Q: How do I get my 2007 Nissan Altima Hybrid to automatically lock?
The dealership said that after I got out of the car it would automatically lock, but this has not been the case. I'm wondering if I was misinformed, or if I need to configure something?

A: Hi, this will take a bit of an explanation, so stay with me. You have a smart key type locking system for the Altima Hybrid, similar to the Smart Key system for the Toyota line (the Altima Hybrid's hybrid system came from the Camry Hybrid, Nissan purchased the rights to it from Toyota). What that means is you have a small black button on the front doors (driver's and pasenger's) that you press to lock the vehicle. You do not have to press the keyless/smart key fob to lock the doors. A smart key allows you to keep the key fob in your purse or pocket and not have to remove it and possibly lose it or have it stolen. Those black buttons are only there to lock the vehicle, they are not there to unlock it. A smart key system works as a proximity detector and will know when the correct key fob is within about 2 feet of the vehicle. The system should also know when the smart key is outside the vehicle and should not allow the engine to be started, even when someone is sitting in the driver's seat and pressing the start button (the Camry Hybrid, for example, will not allow the car to be started even if the smart key is just outside the open driver's door and a person is in the driver's seat and pressing the start button, it knows the difference and that you are not actually inside the vehicle and in the seat- I'm uncertain that the Nissan system will work the same, but I'm assuming it does). So what I believe the dealership meant to tell you is that you don't need to have the smart key fob in hand, you just need it in your pocket and to press the black button when you shut the door(s). The vehicle will not lock itself automatically when you walk away, it is too much of a liability for the manufacturer to have that type of setting in place from the factory. One other thing, most smart key systems have a 2-3 second delay to allow you to check the doors after you've pressed the black button. You can press the button to lock the door and then have a slight delay to lift the door handle and check to make sure the door is locked. It's not really necessary to make sure as long as you hear the locking beep, but it is there as a reassurance. If you wait longer than the 2-3 seconds and then touch the unlock contact patch inside the door handles with the smart key on you, the vehicle will unlock itself, even if you don't actually pull the door handle and only touch it. The vehicle should relock itself after 30 seconds if you haven't opened a door or the trunk. That may have been another point of confusion. My advice is to take your owner's manual and print off what I've typed here out to your Altima and try out the various ways to lock and unlock the doors. My experience has been the smart key systems take a little getting used to and there is nothing wrong with the system, the owner of the vehicle is just adjusting to a different type of technology. They don't have classes for these types of things at every dealership, so take your time. Only after you have done it "by the book" would I take your Altima into the dealership for a diagnostic check. If there is nothing wrong, you may get charged for the check. Good luck.

Q: Is the new 2007 Nissan Altima a single's and/or a guy's car?
Did anyone have a chance to check out the new 2007 Nissan Altima? If so what are your opinions on it being a single's car and/ or a guy's car? The one i looked at had the following options: Convenience package including leather wrapped steering wheel, steering mounted audio and cruise controls, 16" alloy wheels, a single cd/ mp3 player. It has the new X-CVT engine churning 175 horses. The new design is evolutionary as opposed to being a total redesign. The front portion looks more like a Z and the rear tailights have been enhanced. The interiors have been upgraded to give a premium feel and look to it. Let me know what you guys or girls think? Thanks

A: Do YOU like the car? Can you comfortably pay the car off in a short amount of time and still save for other things? These are the questions you should be asking yourself. Buying a car for an image is lame. Being financially prudent to be able to buy land is much better.

A: I owned an '03 at one time, had it from new to 68,000 miles. It was awesome. The other day I took at look at the new 3.5SE, and was very impressed. It has more features than the Maxima. Anyone that is telling you to look at the Maxima clearly hasn't seen the '07 Altima. The Altima is better looking, about the same size, has more horse power, more features, and a nicer interior. Honestly, I can't see why anyone is going to buy the Maxima. A fully loaded 3.5SE is about the same money as the Maxima, but was way more features. Although you call the design evolutionary, looks can be deceptive. The engine is new, the transmission is new, and the chassis is new, and you can definitely tell. I took the Nissan 3.5SE for a test drive last week and it was outstanding. I really threw it around some bends on a country road, and it seemed more poised and better handling than my Acura TL, with similar performance. As far as it being a single guys car. I don't see why not. I mean it's not a Hummer, but who cares? It is an outstanding vehicle that is good value for money, will be very reliable, will hold its value well, and has some class beating features. If I were in the market for a car in that price range I would certainly buy one.

Q: 2007 nissan altima carpet leaking water driver seat and driver rear seat?
I have a 2007 nissan altima. The Carpet underneath the driver seat and driver rear seats is always weat... Every time i pulled up my floor mat theirs a water dripping... Q: How low can I bargain for a NEW 2007 Nissan Altima with the dealer?
2007 Altima Sedan 2.5 S with 2.5 SL Package with GPS, Spoiler, Keyless Entry, ALB, Leather Seats, and other fancy gizmos. Thier website quotes this for $28,140 plus a $615 destination and handling fee....so a total of $28,755. How low do you think I can go when I bargain with the dealer? Base MSRP w/o all the fancy stuff is $20,300. Thanks!

A: K, You are saying that the car's MSRP is 28,755 w/ all the options that you want. Correct? So i'm guessing that the invoice is about 25k. So.... As far as I know, you can get Altimas couple hundred bucks above invoice price. given that you are in SoCal. Ask for the invoice price. Actually, call up the dealers (call at least 4 different dealers and or brokers) See if they have the car w/ the options that you want and the color that you want. And ask for the pricing. They won't give it to you. They want you to come down and see. So...do your best. Get the price. Compare. But make sure that you get the MSRP for all the vehicles and compare it. Because each dealer that you call, they might be talking about different vehicle. Meaning different options. If the car has same option, then the MSRP is the same. So, ask for the price and compare.

Q: How do I replace the headlight bulbs on a 2007 nissan altima? Please answer if you have done it by yourself?
How do I replace the headlight bulbs on a 2007 nissan altima? Please answer if you have done it by yourself before

A: Low beams H-1 bulbs are accessable from behind, under gray screw off covers (remove intergrated power sypply assembly and the coolant recovery bottle). Any other bulb replacment you will have to remove the bumper cover and headlight assembly's or try going thru removing the inneer fender liner. Remember Head light and all bulbs are warrantied for 3 years 36,000 miles. Using higher wattage blue bulbs or HID's will void the warranty of the head lamp assembly. And make sure you get the back of the head light properly reassembled so moisture won't get into the head lamp.

Q: How much of a discount were you able to get on a 2007 Nissan Altima?
I am looking to get a new 2007 Nissan Altima 2.5 S, with the Convenience Plus Package (alloy wheels, sunroof, etc). The MSRP is $23,375, but the dealership is offering around $2000 off since the '08s are coming in. For those of you who have purchased a new Altima, how much were you able to bring the price down? I want them to include a spoiler...what do you think?

A: In my opinion, 2000 off is not a bad deal. You want to pay about $500 over invoice price for a car like this - particularly if they are trying to clear inventory. I went to Edmunds.com and saw that the invoice price for an Altima 2.5S with the package you indicate is about $21,500. You should want to pay about $22,000 for it. I doubt they would throw in a spoiler, but it's worth a shot.

Q: Owners of a 2007 nissan altima - are your brakes squealing even though you do not need brakes?
I own a 2007 nissan altima. I love it! However, the brakes squeal. I have been to the dealership twice and they said that in the morning, the brakes may squeal due to condensation in the morning; however, it is not just in the morning anymore. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

A: metallic brake pads are known to squeal at times usually when there is a possibility of moisture. metallic brake pads last much longer but you can always go to semi-metallic and the problem will probably go away.
