Q: Why is it doing this.?
I have a 2004 Nissan Pathfinder Armada, and I got an entertainment package installed along with it. It came with a 7" TV screen that swings down from the top of the car, a built in DVD player with an AUX input (RGB). The DVD player broke and won't play DVDs anymore, and Nissan said they couldent fix it (Go Figure). but now when I try to plug a DVD player into the AUX input, or anything into it for that mater, it goes from AUX mode to FM Stereo mode after about 5-6 seconds, and it does that everythime you switch it back, and it will never stay at AUX.
Note: The DVD player is broken like it wont play DVD's and it wont eject anything, or even respond. And the dvd player/ AUX Inputs are inside a center console compartment, and the player, and most of the buttons are mounted on the roof.
Why would it do this, and does anyone know how to fix it, or who can fix it?
Thanks!!
A: The auxiliary input is normally an audio only input, not video.
Factory installed or dealer installed entertainment systems are never a good idea. They are way to expensive and never of the best quality. Your best bet, go to a car stereo shop and have them replace it or possibly repair it.
Q: Will an unprogrammed transponder key work as ignition key if a programmed key is installed with remote start?
Here's the deal. I want to install a remote start in my 2004 Nissan Armada, but in order to do that I'd have to give up one key to the remote start since the Armada uses encoded keys and I'm not excited about paying $85 for an extra key ($25 for the key and $60 to program it). I have two keys, so giving up one key isn't a problem, but I don't want to be left with only one key.
My question is, would I be able to use an unprogrammed key as the ignition key? I would think so because the vehicle would already have a programmed key in it, why would the ignition key also have to be programmed? On the other hand, would the unprogammed key confuse the vehicles security system and not start the vehicle?
A: When a programmed key is used in a remote start system, it's installed in a module that reads the signal from the key and transmits it to the receiver ring ONLY during the remote start cycle. It would not transmit the code unless the remote start was active, so you would not be able to start the vehicle with an unprogrammed key.
It's possible that you could start the vehicle using the remote start, then use the blank key to take over and switch on the ignition. The car would probably keep running, but you might get a warning light and trouble code. Even if it works, I wouldn't depend on this system for the long term.
There are online sites like Streetkeys that will sell you replacement keys for less than your dealer's cost. There are also modules available for remote starts that will bypass your vehicle's anti-theft system without requiring you to give up a key. An example is the XK02 module from this site: http://www.bypasskits.com/
Q: Change Tire Size?
I have a 2004 Nissan Armada the stock tire size is 265/70/18 would it be a big deal to change to 275/70/18?
A: The way the tyres are measured is a mixture of imperial and metric. The stock size is 265mm wide on an 18 inch rim. the 70 refers to the height of the sidewall of the tyre which in stock size is 70% of the width of the tyre i.e.185.5mm. The sidewall height of the 275/70/18 tyre is 192.5mm. If you work out the circumferance of each tyre, you will see that in theory, the defference is 44mm or about 1.5%. The best way to compensate for using a wider tyre is to use a lower profile tyre, i.e 285/65/18 tyre is only 0.25mm smaller than the stock tyre, but is 20mm (3/4 inch) wider.
Q: IF I FILED BANKRUPCY WITHIN THE LAST 6YRS WHAT CAN i DO TO STOP A GARNISHMENT,FROM A CAR I COULDN'T AFORD?
I had an 2004 nissan armada for 6 month ay 800 dollars a month my husband left me couldn't afford it turned it in.....they sold it now they say i owe 16000 i can;t afford now theyr'e trying to sue me help!!!!
A: If the car wasn't part of the bankruptcy, then it wasn't protected by the bankruptcy.
If it got repoed, then they auctioned it off and are now suing you for the difference in what they sold it for and what you owed.
Unfortunately, if it goes to court, you will most likely loose and the court may very well order garnishment of your wages to cover the debt.
Sorry, but I don't see any way around this.

A: I would have to say the 03' Navigator if you're willing to spend a good amount of money on it. Whatever you do, don't get a Nissan Armada. We had to rent it one time and it is a gas guzzler!!!! It does not get good mpg!
Q: Would a SLR Motorsports chip really work in a 2003 Pontiac Aztek?
My boyfriend just got rid of his 2004 Nissan Armada because he only averaged like 15 miles per gallon. He is getting a Pontiac Aztek now and is worried about the gas mileage in it too. Does anyone know about what gas mileage to expect in an Aztek and if the SLR chip might help and how much difference it might make?
A: Sure.
It will cause your engine to run lean. Which will get you maybe 1 or 2 extra miles to the gallon.
Which would require you to drive several thousand miles, if not substantially more, before the gas you have saved, has paid for the chip itself.
Nevermind that running lean will cause your engine to have all kinds of problems, which will end up in significantly more money loss than just buying gas in the first place.
Tell your boyfriend to stop being mentally handicapped. If he wants good mileage, stop buying SUVs.
Q: Can I use Ethos gas treatment on a 2004 Acura TL without damaging the engine? What about a Nissan Armada?
A: Yes you can use it just follow the directions

WHAT IS A BUY BACK? A BUY BACK IS A VEHICLE THAT WAS REPURCHASED BY THE MANUFACTURER DUE TO NON CONFORMITY ISSUES. MEANING THAT THE PREVIOUS OWNER COULD NOT HAVE THE VEHICLE FIXED TO THEIR SATISFACTION OR MANUFACTURERS SPECIFICATIONS. FURTHERMORE, THERE ARE TWO STATES IN THE UNION THAT HAVE VERY STRICT BUY BACK LAWS, OR MORE COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS STATE DEFINED LEMON LAW RULES. IN THESE STATES, IF THE “ORIGINAL OWNER” HAS A VALID COMPLAINT ABOUT THE VEHICLES PERFORMANCE, AND THE MANUFACTURER/ DEALERSHIP CANNOT FIX THE ISSUE TO THE CUSTOMERS SATISFACTION OR MANUFACTURERS SPECIFICATIONS. THE MANUFACTURER MUST REPURCHASE THE VEHICLE FROM THE CUSTOMER.
THERE ARE TWO VERY INTERESTING ASPECTS CONCERNING THE BUY BACK. FIRST OF ALL, CALIFORNIA AND TEXAS ARE THE TOUGHEST. SO IF THE SAME ISSUE OCCURRED IN LETS SAY MICHIGAN. THE VEHICLE IN QUESTION WOULD PROBABLY NEVER BE REPURCHASED. SECONDLY, MOST ALL BUY BACK NONCONFORMITY ISSUES, LATER BECOME FACTORY RECALLS. FOR EXAMPLE, THE MAJORITY OF NISSAN TITANS AND ARMADAS HAD ISSUES WITH THE FRONT BRAKES VIBRATING UNDER BRAKING. NISSAN FOUND THIS TO BE A PROBLEM ATTRIBUTED TO THE MATERIAL USED IN THE BRAKE PADS. SO THEY IN TURN REVAMPED THE FRONT BRAKES AND FIXED THE PROBLEM. THEY LATER DUBBED THIS ISSUE “BRAKE JUDDER” AND IT OF COURSE, BECAME A FACTORY RECALL. SO TO SUM UP, IF YOU OWNED A VEHICLE IN CALIFORNIA OR TEXAS PRIOR TO THIS ISSUE BECOMING A FACTORY RECALL, THE VEHICLE WAS BOUGHT BACK. HOWEVER, IF YOU BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE AFTER IT WAS ANNOUNCED AS A RECALL, STATE ENFORCED LEMON LAW WOULD NOT PROVIDE YOU WITH THE SAME STRENGTH FOR ARBITRATION. SIMPLY BASED UPON THE FACT THAT A REMEDY WAS AVAILABLE, AND A REOCCURRING ISSUE WOULD PROBABLY OF NEVER TAKEN PLACE. ALL THIS MEANS, IS THAT WE THE DEALER CAN PROVIDE A GREAT PRODUCT TO OUR CUSTOMERS AT HUGE SAVINGS. FURTHERMORE, YOU ARE COVERED BY THE FACTORY WARRANTY, AND GIVEN AN ADDITIONAL BUY BACK WARRANTY FROM THE MANUFACTURER FOR FURTHER REASSURANCE. LASTLY, THE TITLE ON THE VEHICLE IS CLEAN AND NON-BRANDED. IT IS A WIN, WIN SITUATION FOR EVERYONE INVOLVED.
A: Call a Nissan dealer to verify their story, if everything checks out, buy the truck if you want it. I personally believe that your money is better spent on a smaller crossover vehicle or a sporty wagon both of which should include 6+ airbags.
Q: why would my 2004 Nissan Armada have a soft brake pedal after changing front pads and bleeding all four wheels
Could it be computer resets or booster check valve or something like that?
I have bled at least 2 quarts of fluid through the lines now and i still seem to have a semi soft pedal?
A: You have let air enter the system.
Q: I have a 2004 Nissan Armada and the rear suspension is very rough. The shocks or struts couldn't have gone bad
A: its built for towing... i bet if you threw a couple hundred pounds of sandbags in the back it would smooth out the ride some... how many miles on it?
Q: I am having problems with my 2004 Nissan Armada...?
the "SLIP" and "VDC" lights are on, and when i try to accelerate it does not let me cause of the slip controll I need to know how to reset the computer or what do I have to do to make that clear... please help...
A: Could be as simple as wrong size tires or adding a little brake fluid. You should really get this problem checked at the dealership. I have seen rodents eat the wiring to the antilock brake sensors. Don't keep dog cat food near your truck! Being a first year production Armada it might also display a delta range sensor code and need a new brake booster. Be sure to write down the codes the mechanic should be able to give you a slip of paper with Engine, Transmission and ABS codes all printed out and ask for freeze frame data too. Vechicle Dynamic Control and ABS codes are onlt available to technicians with advanced scan tools and should only be repaired by technicians who work on those Armada's everyday.
Q: 2004 Nissan Armada service engine soon light on?
My Nissan Armada '04 service engine soon light has been on for a while. I took it to get a NYS inspection and they said not to get the inspection until I figure out what's wrong with the engine because if they hooked it up to the computer it would be an automatic failure.
I recently had to replace a part of the muffler/exhaust pipe because a clamp was missing and they had to weld a piece of piping on.
I was just wondering what the possibilities were that might be wrong with it and appx. how much it might be to fix?
also: have never had any problems as far as stalling or anything.
Is it possible it could just be a sensor thing?
A: Many auto supplys will read the code for free once you have the code ask to write down the freeze data. That is data in the computer when the engine light turned on. I can with that information help you have the correct part replaced. Electric ARC Welding on electronic control car with the computers and electrical system plugged in is not a good thing. I will go out on a limb and guess P0420 or P0430 that is left side cat converter or right side cat converter both warrantied for 8 years 80,000 miles.
Q: I have a 2004 Nissan Armada whose drivers side window won't work - does this need a new fuse or a new motor?
The window is all the way down and I can't get it to go back up. Help!!!!
A: if its only one window then its not the fuse. its the switch, regulator, or motor. you'll have to get the door trim off to check it out.
