Q: question about 2000 Nissan Frontier, and 2005 and newer Frontiers???
I heard that the newer, 2005 - Today, Nissan Frontiers get better gas mileage than the previous older model Frontiers, 2000 preferably. The little 3.3 L V6 in the the older model Frontiers get worse mileage because the "small" engine has to work harder, therefore uses more gas.
But the newer 2005 and up models have a significantly bigger engine, a 4.0 L V6 w/ 265 HP. Isn't it a fact that the bigger the engine, the more gas it consumes??
Can anyone tell me why this is true??? Or if it is even true?
Is it the axle ratio or what??
AND another question, is a 2005 - 2008 Nissan Frontier SE or NISMO Crew Cab a better investment (gas and reliability wise) than a 2005 - 2008 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab??
Because I know Toyota's can be very reliable vehicles and have been known to reach up to over 500,000 miles ( I think, or it might be more) if treated with care.
But is a Nissan just as reliable???
Thank You for all people that give thorough and informative answers.
A: Late model Nissan Frontier power come at 1500rpm than early model which come on around 3000rpm. I think rotating mass is lighter weight materials too and 4 speed with overdrive compare to early version.
I would get SE model than NISMO. Its a truck and don't need to be fancy with NISMO stuff.
Nissan seem to get better bang for buck than Toyota. I had toyota p/u before had some major issue and I switch to Nissan and it been running like a charm.
Q: 2000 nissan frontier fast blinker on left side only?

Q: Two Problems With 2000 Nissan Frontier?
Three days ago I had new valve cover gaskets put on my 2000 Nissan Frontier XE King Cab V6 by a reputable shop. When I got the truck back I added a bottle of some fuel system cleaner made by Preston to a tank of gas. the truck was driving great until tonight when the check engine light came on. I bought this truck new and this light has never come on. Also, about three years ago I had a timing belt put on the truck by a different but reputable shop. When i got the truck back I noticed that the electronic idle (or whatever you call the thing that makes the engine rev up and down at idle) was not working. I tried to reset it using directions from a vehicle specific manual that I bought at a parts store. The mechanic told me to bring it back to see if he could reset it but his shop is forty miles away and I never bothered. I have 180K on this truck and need it to last as long as possible. Please help!
A: the throttle position sensor maybe .. i recommend that you don't adjust due to Nissan's have a close throttle switch and if t.p.s voltage is not correct than idle and egr and many other systems don't function as designed due to irrational reading seen by engine control module
Q: I have a 2000 Nissan Frontier CrewCab?
I have a 2000 Nissan Frontier CrewCab...and i want to put a light bar on the roof of the car...i have been looking at Carr light bars...but i dont know what exactly to look for since they have stuff only for 2002 crew cabs and up...any help would be appreciated to narrowing my search down
A: Should work the same but you should measure your cab between the doors and drip rails and a 2002 just to be sure. I have installed Piaa and KC high lights and old fashioned Ceibe super oscars. Your alternator up to the extra duty get it tested make sure you can run the head lights A/C blower on high and the lights on the bar with out dropping below 13v

Q: 2000 Nissan Frontier XE V6 4x4?
I have a 2000 Frontier XE V6 4x4 with 80k mi. So far it's a great truck, but I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find information on my truck. What are the trucks strengths, weaknesses, etc. What are the best upgrades for the least amount of money. Any and all information is welcome. Thanks for the help.
A: here's a link to them on ebay.
Q: how do you recharge the ac on a 2000 nissan frontier xe using a cylinder and where do i refill it?
Where is the thing located to attach the cylinder to it...anyone can help i ty alot..
A: trace the lines from the compressor, one will be bigger than the other. That is the one you want. That is the low pressure side. The fitting should be somewhere under the hood on the big line. good luck. It would still be better to get the leak fixed. That way, you won't have to do it next year again, and every year after that. Time you add it all up, it may be cheaper just to get it fixed right.
Q: how much would or should it cost for a drive shaft for a 2000 nissan frontier 4cylinder truck??? .... n?
how much would new or used driveshaft cost for 2000 nissan frontier ....
A: If you get a new one it should run around $300 , maybe a little over. A junk yard should be able to give you one for $100 or so if you go remove it yourself.
Q: What kind of oil goes in a 2000 Nissan Frontier 4 cylinder?
What kind of oil goes in a 2000 Nissan Frontier 4 cylinder?
A: 530 is what is recommended for that engine new. but if you are approaching 100,000 i would go to 1030.
Q: K&N Air Filter Kit Installation 2000 Nissan Frontier king Cab XE?
I have not installed new plugs in my 2000 Nissan Frontier King Cab XE in over 5 years and 93,000 miles. Since i plan on installing new plugs and wires while I am on vacation next month, I have entertained the notion of replacing the K&N filter (rectangular) that I purchased right after buying the vehicle new in 1999, with the K&N filter kit (part # 57-6005). How difficult is it to install this kit? What tools are needed? How much does this thing cost?
A: Sounds like it's just a replacement filter, in which case you don't need any tools. You will just need to pop the clips on the airbox, lift the top off, remove the old filter and install the new one.
If it's a "performance" filter (cone), then there will be pretty good instructions included in the kit (K&N usually gives fairly detailed directions with their products).
Cheers.
Q: Which type of tires would be best for a 2000 Nissan Frontier SE 4x2 Desert Runner?
I bought the truck about a year and a half ago and the tires on it right now are not stock. They are large off-road Maxxis Mudder Buckshot. They are ok on the street but a little rough and they are noisy on the highway. I mostly drive it in the city and on the highway. What would be a good set of tires that are comfortable on the street but with descent traction?
A: No need to have such large tires, as they will cost you extra plus you will loose in gas mileage. Best to go with stock or near stock and tires that are rated "A" for traction as well as "A" for temp. regular highway tires. Stay away from the low profile tires as they ride rough.
Q: how can i fix mulfunction circuit to bank 2 sensor 1 on a 2000 nissan frontier?
engine light comes on and i scan the truck then i got code po 150 it means malfunction circuit to bank 2 sensor 1
i would like to know how i can fix it.
A: The O2 sensor produces a voltage based on oxygen content in the exhaust. The voltage varies between .1 and .9 Volts, .1 indicating lean and .9 indicating rich. The ECM constantly monitors this voltage while in closed loop to determine how much fuel to inject. If the ECM determines that the O2 sensor voltage was too low (less than .4 Volts) for too long (for more than 20 seconds (time varies with model)), this code is set. The code P0150 refers to Bank 2.
If the problem is constant, then symptoms may include one or more of the following:
MIL illumination
Engine runs rough, missing or stumbling
Blows black smoke from tail pipe
Engine dies
Poor fuel economy
Usually the cause of P0150 is a bad oxygen sensor, however this isn't always the case. If your O2 sensors haven't been replaced and they are old, it's a good bet that the sensor is the problem. But, it could be caused by any of the following:
Water or corrosion in the connector
Loose terminals in the connector
Wiring burnt on exhaust components
Open or short in the wiring due to rubbing on engine components
Holes in exhaust allowing unmetered oxygen into exhaust system
Unmetered vacuum leak at the engine
Bad O2 sensor
Bad PCM
Q: What bolt pattern does a 2000 nissan frontier have?
My friend drives a 2000 frontier and Ive been searching for info on this and pretty sure they've got the M226 (d44) rear end, I know its six lug but Im not sure on the bolt pattern. Thanks
I took it to far and tried to find the bolt pattern of the specific axle, instead of just looking for the frontier. Thanks for the sarcastic remarks and the answer, much appreciated.
A: 15 by 6, also, your friend doesn't have a Dana 44 rear end in that truck - unless it isn't stock. Depending on if it is 4WD, it could be either an H233B rear or if 2WD, is is possible that they put the smaller R200 in it.
