Q: How would i install Keyless entry/remote start on my 1992 Nissan Maxima?
If i were to buy an aftermarket keyless entry and possibly remote start system could i install it myself (not very electronically savvy tho). How hard would it be and how long would it take? The car has power everything, alarm and auto trans just no fobs. thanks

A: You would installit according to the directions. Depending on the brand you get, the wiring diagram should be fairly simple to read. You may need to cross reference it to a repair manaul of your car to insure connection of the proper wires. It should also say how long it might take in the instructions. If I had to guess, I'd say anywhere fom 1-5 hours depending on the type of system you get, and your level of understanding after you read the instructions. in any case, I bid you good luck.

A: You might have to go at it the old fashioned way cut and splice 1992 is even earlier than my electronic service manuals.

A: You'll find the ABS sensor will be attached to the front left caliper. It will only be small, and probable attached to the caliper by one bolt. Hope this helps.

A: well its easy i have done it a few times in my 93 maxima wait do you have a gxe or se? the gxe just remove or loosen it out of the lower intake pipe the se is almost the same remove the manifold like how you remove the air filter then there is 2 tubes those are vacum hoses just unclamp and pull out then just slide the intake manifold out all you need to clean the manifold is just some throttle cleaner just spary and open the throttle and spary inside too the spray would dry really fast so nothing to worry about then replace everything this would improve car idle and acceleration

My 1992 nissan maxima hesitates on take off. When its at idle or going freeway speeds, it seems to run fine. its only when i feather the throttle that it seems to hesitate and sputter. Any suggestions?

It wont go up and down anymore, i dont think i blew the motor, i think i blew the fuses or relay. How do i check the fuses and relay( icant find them) and how do i get the antenna itself out? Thanks.

A: It's in the back, right? Remove the nut on the top of the fender. It may be hex-shaped or have notches in it. The notched type can often be removed with thin needle nosed pliers. Spread the pliers and insert the tips into two notches in the nut. Just be careful not to slip and scratch the paint. Remove the carpet in the trunk by the antenna. There is usually one or two (probably 10mm) bolts securing the motor. Unplug the electrical connector and slide the antenna out.

My power door locks have a mind of their own, sumtimes they stay locked sumtimes they dont and sumtimes they just go up and down for no reason. I need a soution to this, im guessin i need a new power door lock switch or control but for now id at least like to cut off power to them. So i need to take off the door panel and unplug them, i dont think they have a fuse i didnt see one, maybe sum maxima owners can help me out. THanks

A: to take teh panel off: handle bar on the top there is a plastic on the right side take a screw driver and pop it out and then un screw then the door handle to open the door there is also another plastic covering the two screws then unscrew all two and pull out the handle bar then get something sharp and flat like a screw driver and lifting around the window button panel until it just pops out and then unplug it next is pulling the panel off of the door just pull out from the bottom fist then the sides and then lift up push the lock down would help a bit finally to put it all back put the top part of the pannel in first because of the door lock and then just bang everything back in place

hello, i have 1992 nissan maxima. there is 2 wires attached to the positive side of the battery. the smaller wire seems to get very hot after i start the car. also when i disconnect that smaller wire the engine idles a little higher. then when i reconnect the engine idles a little slower and the wire gets hot again. also when i disconnect that wire, my brake light comes on. i step on the brake and i hear a click coming from my shifter and the light goes out. very confusing but i think i may have a short or something. to make things simple, i have a wire coming from my positive side on my battery that gets hot. does anyone know where the wires go from the positive side of the battery on a 1992 nissan maxima. thank you

A: The second or small wire is usually fitted after market for some accessory and you need to replace it ASOp as it is likely to burn out if getting too hot you may hae it overloaded with too many things to carry ~~
