Q: How much does a clutch kit cost 4 a 1998 nissan maxima
Please reply
A: OMG. Are people really paying this much. That is insane! I have been working at my Nissan/import shop for 15 years and love when people bring us quotes from the dealer. I guess all that overhead cost money. I love my little shop.
I'll do this job for $625 any day. Clutch kit is $200. Labor is about $400. Add in new fluid and your on the way.
I guess if it turns out you need all that other stuff you can replace it but seriously. I guess it depends on how long you want to keep the car.
Q: where can i get a 1998 nissan maxima windshield washer bottle?
A: Junk yard/Pick a part is okay but not always the best. If you choose this, take some water with you to test WW bottle. Dealer is the best place as they have exactly what you need, but you pay the price. I would go to a reputable discount auto parts store or try J.C. Whitney

A: Yeah the body kit would be about $400, plus another probably.. $500 or more for the paint and probably $200 for the installion, so for the body kit i would estimate $1100-$1200
and for the $1000 for engine mods, go with Short ram intake($40-5-10HP), Headers($300 10-15 HP), Catback exhaust ($500 5-10-15 HP).
$840 Total Engine mods $160 Left, get him a decent Cd player if it doesnt have one?

Q: I'm selling a 1998 Nissan Maxima with 205,000 miles on it how much should i ask for it?
Its a 98 maxima gxe we are the second owners of the car. Theres next to no rust on the car. It is in good condition it starts right up. There are a few scratches on it but that is reasonable since its ten years old. It has been well maintained.
A: $1,000. Its 11 years old and has over 200k miles. At that age lots of things will start to wear out.
Q: How to find out what remote to buy for a 1998 nissan maxima?
i now have info to program them but dont know were to look for the codes for the right remote off ebay... anyone know were i have to go?
the problem i dont have to remote right now. i, looking to get one for the car. i know they work but dont know what one.
A: It might be worth the price to have Nissan Look it up for you so you purchase one at the high price then buy several more from E-Bay at a lower price. There are two designs back in 1998 the kidney bean shaped and the more traditional rectangle with four buttons lock unlock trunk and panic buttons. Or here is a trick stop some one with a Maxima ask to borrow there key fob and see if it programs to your car That won't keep it from working the other car just as a test to see the FCC number on the back and the shape of the remote. Take a picture of that remote if it unlocks your doors.trunk
Q: Which car is better a 1998 Nissan Maxima or a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria?
According to safercar.gov they pretty much have a the same crash test results, according to MSN autos reliability ratings Kbb reliability ratings and Edmunds Reliability ratings they are both very reliable cars, and the only dividing factor is that according to fueleconomy.gov the nissan has a little better fuel economy.
So which car is better for me?
A: Great question, I love the crown Vic. 2000 fantastic body style. The gas mileage is a lot better on a crown vic then most people realize and it is a very reliable car, maybe the most reliable car ford has ever made.
Maxima is a good car, you can't go wrong with a Nissan.
If you drive a crown vic everybody on the freeway will move out of the fast lane to let you go by, you look like a cop car.
Q: How do you program a keyless remote for a 1998 Nissan Maxima?
I purchased one off of ebay and the instructions aren't that great. I can't find the hole/ button on the ECU that I have to press for 3 seconds! Please help!
A: ignore the button on the ecm. get in the car and lock the doors, put the key in and out of the ignition cylinder completely 6 times within 10 seconds. if this is done correctly the hazard lights will flash on the dash. when this happens turn the ignition to the on position, then push any button on the remote, the hazard lights will blink again showing the remote is programmed. if you have more than 1 remote unlock and relock the doors with the power door lock switch and push the button on the next remote, the hazard lights will blink again. when done turno off the ignition and unlock the doors. get out and try your remote. if the hazards dont blink when going into rpogram mode there is a problem with the system in the car. if they dont blink when pushing a button on the remote it is either the wrong remote for your car or a bad remote. the same year car can have several different remote parts numbers through nissan and the numbers on the remote dont relate to nissan part numbers.

Q: Is it worth it to trade in my 1998 Maxima back to Nissan for a 2008 Atlima Lease?
I have a 1998 Nissan Maxima with about 170,000 miles on it, recently I have been running into light, tire and other minor problems with the car. Also the car has a cloth interior which I have grown to despise over the years. Is it worth it to trade my car in back to Nissan for a new Altima lease. Do you think I will regret paying monthly in the future?
A: You won't get much for your old car and many dealers won't want it as a trade, so you should sell it yourself. You'll make more money anyway.
As to leasing a new Altima, make sure you understand how leasing works and if it's right for you before you make your decision. Many people, such as a previous answerer, advise against leasing but this is based on their own lack of knowledge about how leasing works. Leasing works very well for some people, including me, but don't do it if you aren't willing to learn about it. It's too easy to make mistakes. Here's a web site that might help:
