Q: I own a 2003 Nissan Maxima GL and the warranty will be expired at 120,000 mileague.?
The Nissan dealer advises me to have a package for warranty provision to assure before my warranty expired. The package costs $399 plus taxes (Canada).
I am going for it, but please advise what should I know about the service. Is there any prevention that I should be aware of?
Once the warranty is expired, will the dealer be responsible if any major problems may happen after I have paid for this service? What is the time frame of workmanship warranty?
A: You should be asking the dealer this stuff, not this site.
Q: Going 60,000 mi on my 2003 Nissan Maxima. Is it worth bringing to the Nissan dealer for service? Or?
can I have the transmission fluid replaced (w/ Nissan Matic D ATF) and have the radiator flushed at my local auto repair shop? The dealer routine maintenance will cost about $500+. Will it be worth it?
I can have my belts and hoses checked by my local repair shop too... What unique check-up will the Nissan dealer have that the local shop can't perform?
A: You can go anywhere to have it serviced and there is nothing Nissan can do about it. Just make sure to keep your records in case something goes wrong. Nissan could claim you didn't service it because they wouldn't have a record of them doing it.
Places like Midas and your major chains are about 1/3 of a dealer price. They should be able to do anything Nissan can do. Smaller local shops may not be able to do somethings that require a special tool or something.
Q: My 2003 nissan maxima uses Potenza RE92 tires. What other makes are compatible with this model?
I dont like the Potenza, it easily slips in rain and snow. I looking for a better one.
A: Depending on what type of Maxima you have your tire size is either;
P215/55R17 93H
P215/55R16 91H
P225/50R17 93V
Since your OE tire was the Potenza RE92 then you probably have a Maxima SE with the P225/50R17 93V. If your looking for an all-season tire with orders-of-magnitude improvements in dry, wet and snow performance over the OE Potenza's the place to look is another Potenza - the Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position. Don't let the similar name fool you. This tire is simply amazing in all weathers and a great handling tire as well. Its also cheaper than the RE92 - like $50-60 less each. They are also cheaper, and quite frankly better, than the competing Michelin products.
The RE960AS Pole Position's are still on the high end though so if your on a slightly tighter budget the Firestone Firehawk GT or Yokohama AVID V4s are both decent choices but both are inferior to the Pole Position in terms of traction. Still way better than the RE92 though.

PS
The Yokohama ES100 recommended by someone else above is a "summer only" tire. You had expressed a need for use in snow as well which that tire absolutely can not do. I've driven all these tires against the competition and I can guarantee you will be satisfied with any of my recommendations.
Q: How much is the insurance for a 2003 Nissan Maxima?
I am a teenage driver and i need a cheap car but a nice car
A: Trying checking out the auto quotes on line. By being teenager, you insurance will be a little higher however shop around to see which will be the cheapest for you. Try Erie Insurance, Metlife, or Progressive.
Q: Would you rather buy a 2003 Nissan Maxima SE with 6speed or 1996 Acura Integra GSR 5speed?
acura has 120k miles, maxima has 100k miles,
I want a reliable "sports car"
would i have to pay a lot for repairs on the 1996 ?
A: Maxima's are not quite as reliable as they were in the 1980's but it sure beats a 1996..
Q: Where can I find chrome grills for a 2003 Nissan Maxima?
Where can I find aftermarket parts for 4th generation Nissan Maxima?
A: Try ebay or craigslist.org
Q: where can I find information for fixing a coolant leak for 2003 Nissan Maxima?
It's been overheating and there's very little coolant left, so I added little water to get it to where it is. Now I need to find where the leak is... I can see the fluid spewed on the engine bay.. (so i know it is a leak) I bought coolant but I need to fix leak first obviously
A: Most likely the top tank of the radaitor has a crack or is leaking. Replace the leaking part right away. Your engine could cost almost $4,000 to replace with another used engine. So why would you put water into a aluminum engine? And why would you drive around with a coolant leak risking overheating?
Q: What Is The Best Engine To Use To Replace a 2003 Nissan Maxima Gxe?
The Engine I have is making a pinging noise. It started at 110 000 km. I'm at 190 000 and it still pings. I used injector cleaners, synthetic oil, engine treatment, changed the catalytic converter, even cleaned the valves with treatment. It seems like I have to change the engine cause I really like the car. Any suggestions of what I should do?
A: drop the 350z's 3.5l v6 in there.
Q: Can a digital climate control be put in a 2003 Nissan Maxima that currently has a manual climate control?
If so, is this as simple as unplugging the manual one and plugging in the digital? Does this require rewiring? Does the car need to have special wiring for this to be done?
A: it could but would cast more than the car
Q: How much does it cost to change spark plugs in a 2003 Nissan Maxima?
I found out I had water in my gas tank a few weeks ago. I use the solution to get rid of it but I am still hearing the clinging noise. Now I find out I need new spark plugs to get rid of the noise. Is this expensive? Any other way to get rid of that clinging noise?
A: Do it yourself = $12
Mechanic = $150
Q: Took my 2003 Nissan Maxima to the dealership because it won't start. They said I need a new mass air-flow sens
or and a Electronic Throttle Acturary. I just want the car to run. I understand the Mass air-flow sensor, but does the electronic throttle actuary make sense?
A: well most new cars use whats called a drive by wire set up no longer using cables to move the throttle body or stable the cruise control. Well the mass air flow sensor could be shot or it may need to be cleaned. The actuator well its a possibility however fixing that would require replace one entire part witch is expensive. I would try cleaning the mass air sensor first.
Q: What is the proper oil to use in a 2003 Nissan Maxima?
I'm hearing a noise in my car. Someone told me I have water in my tank. Checked it out. No water. Someone told me I needed spark plugs or maybe its the oil I'm using. I always go to the Nissan Dealership to get oil changes. I just called them and asked them what type of oil are they using. They told me regular oil 530. Its time for me to get an oil change at this point (I hit 3000 miles) and I noticed this morning driving to work that I didnt hear the sound as much. Should I be using synthetic oil or what? How do you know which oil is better?
A: there is a fuel system cleaner made by everwear that helps evaporate fuel moisture. you can find them at most parts stores. your car calls for 5w30, but most shops carry semi-synthetic, which is better protection. i work for goodyear, and we carry kendall semi-synthetic, so find a goodyear/gemini dealer and have it done there...we also charge less for oil changes...lol.
Q: Install Navigation System in 2003 Nissan Maxima?
When I bought my 2003 Nissan Maxima, the only option that I left out was the navigation system. Now, I want one that can be integrated into the radio/cd console. I don't want to buy one that mounts on top of the dash board or suctioned on to the windshield.
Which product/model would be compatible with the 2003 Nissan Maxima? Has anyone done it? If so, how much would it to buy one and get it installed?
A: I have a 03 Maxima as well and here is the one's I have narrowed it down too. I hope these help you

Q: I'm looking at a 2003 Nissan Maxima with 92,000 miles no leather seats and the cd console has been taking out
I'm looking at a 2003 Nissan Maxima with 92,000 miles no leather seats and the cd console has been taking out and replaced with a cd deck that the dealer does not have...They want $9,950..Any advice?
A: Try to lower the price to $7,500. Assuming that the maxima your looking at is the SE model with all the options except the leather it should not be worth more than $8000.
Q: how good is a 2003 nissan maxima se?
i just got a 2003 nissan maxima. i was wondering what the problems i will have with it in the future might be. its a 3.5 automatic.
A: Previous body style Maxima those were great cars. Just keep the engine and trans oil's changed and clean air filters it will last till the kids grow up. Many of my customers have over 500,000 miles no engine or trans repair
