Q: I have a 2008 Nissan Maxima, and it is supposed to hold 20 Gallons of gas yet when i fill it, it takes 14?
Does anybody know why this would happen? or does anybody else have this problem. i feel like it could be a calibration issue, and when the needle says its empty it really isn't?

A: A gas tank gauge is just a float, which is measured. It may get stuck or be mis-adjusted. Also, it is very very common to have the car register empty when it is not (as the mfg probably figures people will be happier thinking their car is empty -- when it is not, than to run out of gasoline when the gauge says there should be gas). This is a common situation, and not even much of a problem. Since its a new car, take it in to get the problem adjusted. Or, do what everyone else does -- figure out how many miles a gallon you average, and then multiply that amount by 17 (NOT 20). When you get to that many miles on a full tank, fill it up again. This is much more accurate than a gas gauge. Why multiply by 17 instead of 20? Because I would also rather you get gas with a little reserve, instead of walk along a highway in the middle of the night wishing you had stopped for gas at the last town down the road. According to the MFG, your car should get 19/25, so averaging 20, you should get gas every 340 miles. But you will still have 60 miles of reserve fuel. Good luck. For piece of mind, since the car is under warranty, get it fixed.

Q: Where can I find pics of the 2008 Nissan Maxima?

A: Nissan’s sixth-generation flagship model carries over after a major update for the 2007 model year. The 2008 Nissan Maxima features an aggressive exterior and a sporty yet luxurious interior with a high-quality look and feel. The 2008 Maxima continues to be powered by an award-winning 255-horsepower 3.5-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 engine, the only engine to make the Ward’s “10-Best Engines” list every year since the award’s inception. Enhancements to the 2008 Maxima include: - A Platinum Edition Package, featuring driver memory features, driver’s seat power lumbar, auto-dimming outside mirrors, HID Bi-Xenon headlights, Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System, heated steering wheel and more is available on both SE and SL models. Other than that its the same old vehicle... so any 07 will be identical to the 08.

Q: which one is overall better a 2008 Nissan Maxima or a Toyota Camry and why?

A: There is not any difference in durability just reputation Toyota has. Ask any tow truck driver how many Camrys or Maximas they tow. The best car is the one you will be happy with making 4 to 5 hundred a month payments on. Nissan product tends to be more powerful and sporting. And a side note which car can be ordered with a 6 speed manual trans? Yes Nissan still has a car for 10% of the people who want to shift for them selfs. As always buy the most car you can afford Navagation Bluetooth technology packages all help when you resell the car 5 to 6 years from now. What's up with that Toyota emblem sticking out on the front?

Q: 2007-2008 nissan maxima?

Does anybody know when the 2008 Nissan Maxima is coming out and where I can find a picture of it? I love this car from the 2004 model to the current 2007, but I'm really curious about what the '08 model will look like.

I'm looking for the most up to date info. on the 08 Honda Accord & the Nissan Maxima. What's new, what is standard on each version, options avail. w/each version & prices on both vehicles as well as when they will be at the dealerships. I've checked various search engines but have not found anything that gives me the info. i need.

A: The 2008 Accord is a total redesign. There's been some chatter on the Temple of VTEC forums: http://www.vtec.net/forums/one-message?message_id=701115 Can't help you with the Maxima much. I believe it's due for a total redesign in a year though.

Q: 2008 Nissan Maxima or 2008 Acura TL?
Don't know what car to get?? Looking for performance and style

A: neither one of these cars is great on performance. They are both large sedans. I would say the TL but it will cost much more than the Nissan. You could aslo look at a Lexus is250 if a small sedan is ok. HTH

Q: How much do you think a 2007-2008 Nissan Maxima would cost at a Dealer Auction ?
Lets say the car has about 10k to 30k a guy i know says he can get them for like $11,000 what do you think Anyone have an idea? or know someone that has bought one at an Auction. I know that but i'm talking about buying cash at a dealer Auction not just any Auction. i Saw a dealership that is selling one for 14k with leather interior and all the good stuff so at an Auction is has to be cheaper since dealer are always going to make profit out of what they sell these are the same auctions that dealers get their cars Ok Maybe no One Understands that this is ME BUYING the CAR CASH CASH Cash! no financing !

A: Average price for an 2007 SE is $14,968 with 26,000 miles So he would be blowing smoke up your butt SL is $1500 more... Let me better explain my answer then. My numbers are from Manheim Auctions which is a dealer ONLY auction and it is the largest auction company in the world. Dealers have to pay CASH for this car at the auction. So why would they want to go lose $4,000? I am telling you something is wrong with this deal. http://www2.manheim.com/

Q: What type of Iridium spark plug does Nissan use in the 2008 Maxima. Is it Laser iridium or iridium Ix?

Q: nissan maxima 2004-2008 size?
who thinks nissan maxima year range 2004-2008 are too big.

A: I think they are`nt a bad size. remember it is the top of the line for Nissan sedans($32-$35,000). over the years i have seen the Maxima grow in size. i remember when it came out back in `87. to me it was a ugly box cut shape vehicle . but over the years the styling has gotten better and more luxurious. if u noticed that even the new Toyota Avalon have gotten longer. The Maxima`s and the Avalon`s are long like the Cadillac DTS but not as much room inside as the DTS but very close. I went to the Nissan dealership just this pass Saturday, to test drive the new Altima. whiles test driving the Altima,(my brother came along for the ride)my brother asked the sale rep some questions about the Maxima. the sale rep told us that Nissan what going to do even a bigger model for the Maxima, because so many people have said that the 08 Altima`s and the newer Maxima`s look about the same. so what my point is, if u think that the Maximas are too big now wait until when the newest design comes out.

Q: What are the differences between the Nissan Maxima SL - 2006, 2007 and 2008 models?
I am particularly interested in the Audio and Interior features including the Nav system, bluetooth feature, MP3, aux input, Intelligent key and the memory driver's seat. Thanks

A: well, the body style is different on the 06. and the 07 and 08 are identical. on the 07's you can get the nissan navigation system with the bose 6-disc in dash changer. it has 8 speakers with 2 10'' BOSE subs in the back. In the 07's there is a aux input just in front of the shifter... (if you get the nav system) i think its in the same spot without navi. I can tell you from experience, if you like styling and comfort and luxuriousness you should go with an 07 or 08... the 06 is great too if you are low on money and cant afford the 07 or 08. . if you have anymore questions feel free to contact me at shibbyskater2003@yahoo.com
