Q: after serving my nissan murano 2003,the car is still indicating on the dash board the car is due for servicing
A: They should have reset this at the dealer. If you did not service it at the dealer they may not have known how to reset it. Don't worry about it. If they forget to reset mine (Acura) it will stay on as well. You can take it back to the shop/dealer and they can reset it for you.
Q: 2003 NISSAN MURANO elcetric motor mount problems?
Hi, the 2 elec. mounts on my Murano are making noises when I either put it in gear or turn off the ignition... Is this dangerous for my computer if I don't change the parts? The dealership is asking $1500 CAD to replace the parts and labor. (My warranty unfortunately is not coverring) They also said they could simply disable the mounts but the check engine light would always be on.. How would they do this? Can I do This?
Can someone help!?
Thanks fro your reply Jean Paul!
So with that said. If I unplug and disable the mount manually will I be ok? Could I keep driving the Murano without any risk of damaging it??
Thanks.
Louis
A: Follow the wires from the mounts to the two brown plugs and just un plug them I do not think the check engine light will turn on. Shorted mounts could dammage the engine control computer. Changing the expensive mounts is difficult as the sub-frame has to be removed. And try calling Nissan say your husband was thinking about buying a new Titan truck but this problem with your Murano has you worried thinking Toyota instead. But if they would replace your mounts free or at a big discount>>>> It miight work if you have a good service history and under 60,000 miles
Q: The power outlets in my 2003 Nissan Murano SE don't work. Why?
All of the fuses are brand new.
Are the fuses on the underside of the dadh? Maybe behind the radio where all the wiring is but attached to the front power socket?
I wish it were as easy as finding a bulletin. I've been searching for an answer for months.
A: You did check the fuses; But did you know? there are two 15 amp fuses front power socket right side dash has it's own fuse if blown will kill the other power sockets that operate from a powersocket relay and seperate fuse (which may be ok). Then that relay runs the consol and rear power socket. So two 15 amp fuses are used. Some phone chargers short and blow the fuses. Only replace with like amperage fuses and do not fill up the empty slots.
Q: 2003 nissan murano, can't find where to access rear light assembly to change bulb?
A: on the edge of the light where it meets the body there is a smooth black filler piece about an inch wide that you have to pop off the retainer clips ,under that there are 2 10mm bolts to remove then lamp assy can be removed to access bulbs
Q: I hve a 2003 Nissan Murano with BOSE sound and I need to know the colors of the rear speaker wires: both sides
A: there are no specific colors for speaker cables for factory fitted unit.
only aftermarket units have color codes.
Q: 2003 nissan murano, six disc changer, skips when it cold, what to do?
Wife's car. When she gets in it in the morning. The cd player skips till the vehicle is warmed up. Trying to figure a way to keep this from happening. To keep wife happy. Any ideas, other than warming the car up before using the cd player?
A: Basically the suspension inside the player stiffens up when its cold outside causing it to feel every little bump and skip. Not an easy fix. Replacement with a different aftermarket type
Q: How can I change my 2003 Nissan murano brake disc's and pad's?
A: The beat way is to buy a CHILTONS manual at the auto supply and do it right the first time.
Q: How do I change the brake pads on a 2003 Nissan Murano?
A: This can be a learn-as-you-go project. Obviously, jack up car and remove wheels. Remove the two bolts or pins that secure the caliper to the brake pad carrier. THe old pads can now be removed. You will have to figure out a way to press the brake pistons back into the caliper. This can usually be done with a C-clamp. Install new pads, and re-install caliper and bolts. If you go to the Nissan dealer, they will have a brake kit that includes return springs and other misc. brake parts. The good news here is that all parts will fit perfectly. Remember that this is the time to change your brake fluid. Read your owner's manual. Brake fluid only lasts for 2-3 years and then must be changed. Not doing so will cause premature wear to caliper seals and master cylinder. Use only genuine Nissan brake fluid. Mixing different brake fluids together can cause severe brake problems. If you need help, purchase a Haynes or Bentley repair manual. For improved braking you might install a set of Axxis pads from Australia. They will keep your wheels cleaner than the factory units. (sometimes). Don't use any other manufacturer brake pads. If your discs are worn, buy only genuine Nissan rotors. Use the Internet, if you like, to shop for best mail order prices. Rotors are high precision items and have different heat dissipation properties. Good Luck!
Q: How long should the brakes last on a 2003 Nissan Murano? I have 56000 Kilometers on the vehicle?
A: Your due for a check of the front pads right now. Depending on the particular car and the owner's driving habits, the original pads could wear out anywhere between 20,000 and 70,000 miles typically. The important thing is to change the pads before they're so worn out that they damage the rotor surfaces. It's easy for a shop technician to check them when he rotates your tires.
Q: Where can I find a DVD/CD radio for Nissan Murano 2003?
Where can I find a DVD/CD, bluetooth, GPS audio for my 2003 Nissan Murano? I'm told that there is not a compatible radio around. I tried Circuit City, Best Buy and Sound Advice (Tweeters).
A: Crutchfield says this about your car....The vehicle's climate controls are built into the factory radio, so the factory radio cannot be replaced.
Q: What steps do I take to change serpentine belt on 2003 Nissan Murano?
A: take a photo of the way it is routed, this will help you on installation, get a long handled wrinch, and de-tension the tensioner, pull the belt off the pulleys, walk it around the fan shroud and out the bottom, install is reverse of removal, ensure that the belt is seated properly on all the pulleys before starting the car at the end. alternatively jiffy lube does free install with belt purchase.
Q: I just bought a 2003 Nissan Murano. What's checklist of items (fluids, wires, etc) I need to be handy?
I'm looking to buy things like (antifreeze, booster cable, etc.) to keep in my new car so that I can keep it running smoothly.
In addition to a checklist of things I need, any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
A: I would carry anything other than water, a flashlight, a can of fix-a-flat, and booster cables (get the thickest cables you can find).
Your fluids will be topped off everytime you get a oil change. So I wouldn't worry about them.
You have a great car, enjoy.
