Q: What do you think of Nissan Murano 2006?
i would like to know if it is a nice car to buy and what is the car problems.
A: Too good buy this no problems
Q: 2006 Nissan Murano Brakes?
I have a friend that has a squealing noise in the brakes when applied in reverse. She's been to the dealer 4 times for this problem and they tell her its normal. I would like to here from a Nissan Tech who has heard of this problem, and what the fix is.
A: I am sorry to tell you this. Braking lightly first thing in the morning backing up out of her drive way is the hardest thing a brake pad can do silently. Rust forms on the steel over night and the brake pad trailing edge does not contact the rotor the same as leading edge when traveling forward. Besides braking in reverse might only be 1% of the total time that brakes are used. So let me grind down the trailing edge of the pad and make the reverse quiet for 5,000 miles till the pad wears, by removing surface area for forward stopping from 75 miles an hour. Nissan brake noise and judder bulletin covers noise braking in reverse. Please note that in Europe people do not care if brakes are noisy they want maximum stopping on mountain roads. Brake noise is the number one customer problem all makes and technicians in America spend a lot of time trying to keep customers happy but I am no help here. Murano " No Problem Found "
Q: My 2006 Nissan Murano don't have a navigation system is it possible to buy a factory one and install it?
A: I believe you can do it if you can then it will be about anywhere from 1,200 to 1,400 and I don't know if that includes installation.Or you can go to like circuit city and have and in dash one put on I believe it's a little cheaper this way and you get a nice name brand system.Well hope this helps
Q: I want to buy a Nissan Murano 2006. What is good and bad. How much should I pay for an SE model in Canadian$$?
A: I always look at the trade-in price on Kelly Blue Book(www.kbb.com). It may be useful to you, also.
Why not call around to dealers and ask for some pricing and compare these 2 numbers?
Q: what tires should i buy for a 2006 nissan murano?
A: This has way too many variables - budget, usage, and on and on.
So take the safest path. If you are happy with the ones on there now buy another set. Online/Mail order companies like the Tire Rack have almost every brand and size that the manufacturers used as Original Equipment.
Use their phone or e-mail and specify that you want OEM version since some companies have ordered special versions for their vehicles that share the name of another tire model but have subtle changes. The Tire Rack has ads in major car mags like Car and Driver with the OEM model listed in tiny type next to the size.
Q: Does Anyone Own a Nissan Murano 2006 or 2007?
If you do how much did it cost also is it Cloth Seats or Leather and were you satisfied with your purchase? I've been thinking about trading my car in or one.
A: I do not own one, but I have driven them on more than one occation. I considered leasing one last time I bought a vehicle, but just couldn't afford the payments (Maybe next time, I drive an Altima and prefer cloth interior)
You can spec one out on nissan's website to get MSRP on one equipped exactly the way you want.

Q: How'd I do? 2006 Nissan Murano, 39mo lease,$380/mo?
Put $975 down, 15k miles allow per year, "S" model, no extra's, 2wd. I've owned 2 Nissan Maximas (1987 and 1994), and were pleased with maintenance issues-good little cars. Still having as backup car the 1994 - it has 171k + miles, and still running like a top. This car I'm to lease because to purchase, my payments would have run close to $500/month.
So I am asking two things:
1. How'd I do on the negotiations?
2. How'd I do on the model of vehicle?
Thank you all for your assistance ahead of time...

A: Are you happy with the price? If so, great - you own it!
The Murano is a great car, should give you very happy, trouble free miles. Enjoy it.
Happy 2007

A: No. It has CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) thats gives you better:
0-60 time

0-top speed
around the lap time.
than the other Automatic transmisson.
The Murano SL has CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) with manual shifter standerd (the geats are:P, R, N, D, +,- .istead of: P, R, N, D, 1, 2.
Q: 2006 Nissan Murano Navigation System?
I have a 2006 Nissan Murano and chose not to get the navigation system. Does anyone know if it can me added - are all the mechanics already there Nissan just needs to do some connections. I'd like it to be in the same place where it would have been if I had gotten it standard - not one that is plugged into a power outlet.
Thanks!
Karen
A: cost wise it wouldn't be good move. its like 3k in parts to have to get parts alone.
sorry.
Q: 2006 nissan murano help?
I have a 2006 murano. How do I program the rearview to open my garage
thsnk you for stating the obvious. My manual was stolen 6 days aftet I got it. Can someone give a real answer?
A: Didja know you can download your owner's manual, as well as a bunch of other ones, from the Nissan USA site? At least you won't have to pay for it.
And I won't have to copy the info from page 2-44 to 46 since it's pretty involved. I couldn't even give you an easy explanation here, and I did it myself over a year ago for my 2005 Murano.
Q: 2006 Nissan Murano is cutting out at low speeds?
From a stop when pushing the gas at normal pressure to drive my Murano is totally cutting out like the fuel injectors are plugged or something, I have ran fuel injector cleaner but no luck. At Highway speeds it seems to be running ok, but when smashing the gas pedal it picks up with slight hesitation. Help....
There is No Check Engine light on and the shifting seems to be fine. Just the low end sputtering when trying to accelerate from a stop.
I will check the Big Black plastic tube near the air filter and update.
thanks
A: Go out and put back the air flow meter boot to the throttle chamber. I bet you find the last time the air filter was replaced they accidentally pulled the boot off of the inside air sliencer big black plastic thing. Muranos are very smooth running and reliable until IFFY-LUBE gets a hold of them
Q: Is it possible to increase mileage on new car-2006 Nissan Murano only gets 17-18 mpg-highway?
In city, it's only getting as low as 7mpg up to 12 (it has a monitor that gives averages), and highway, it's gone up to 19. The sales stats say it should avg 25mpg. It's a new car, so may be limited as to what I can do that would not violate manufacture's standards. My old 94 Nissan Maxima at 171k miles was still getting 23-25 mpg; most on highway roads.
Wow! Fantastic (and humorous!) answers-GREAT information! I gave thumbs up to those I found very informative-but to choose among so many excellent answers is impossible. Please forgive me for asking the community to vote on this one.
Thank you all again! I learned alot from your answers! This is what Y!A is all about!
A: You should probably check oil, tires, etc. But keep in mind that the stats at the dealership are somewhat fudged. They are usually a couple miles off from actual conditions. The mpg at the dealership is given for the best possible conditions. Your car may get less mpg since it is wintertime.
Q: how do you reset the airbag light on a 2006 nissan murano?
i removed the passenger seat to clean the carpet where i spilled baby formula, and then when i reconnected it the light came on.
A: The Nissan Murano has a weight sensor in the passanger seat so if noone is sitting there the airbag will automatically off but on the dash will be a light that says (AIRBAG OFF) and it will be lit up at all times if noone is sitting there. If you put any kind of weight on that seat the light should go off. It is no issue with your vehicle its the way the cars are built.
Q: Do I need to change my automatic transmission fluid at 30,000 on my 2006 Nissan Murano?
I called two Nissan dealerships. One said yes and the other no, it is at 60,000. What should I do? Thanks!
A: Not every 30K miles, but definitely if it hasn't been done since new. The technical answer is that the powertrain computer has some complex computing that it does to determine when the fluid needs to be changed. The Murano has the CVT transmission, which is a pricey piece of machinery. The fluid is also pricey, at a cost of about $20 per quart, available only at the dealership. At every oil change, or even every 15K miles is overkill. Maybe Hondas need to be serviced that much, but you have a Nissan.
Q: Is invoice a good price to pay on a 2006 Nissan Murano?
I am looking to buy a new 2006 Nissan Murano. I can get it at the invoice price. Is that good? I'm not experienced in purchasing cars (we bought out last one 5 years ago), but i told them i wouldn't pay over invoice. So, what's a good deal on a car?
A: A Nissan Murano is a good car, but they aren't selling very good right now. Tell your dealership that you'll take the car at invoice plus and dealer incentives, rebates, or dealer cash. If a dealer is willing to sell you the car at invoice, they are still making money because the manufacturer of the vehicle is paying the dealership to move the car. That is when they offer dealer cash. Especially on a 2006 which is now considered last year's model, you should find yourself getting some pretty good discounts with the dealer incentive and any trade you have.
