Q: 2002 Nissan Pathfinder lights..?
Instrument panel went out awhile back. Still works fine, no backlight, cant see it at night. Turn the lights on, stereo goes out too but works fine otherwise. Flip the brights on, the little blue light lights up, but that is it. Left headlight.. running light okay, turning on the lights from the switch the drivers side one wont turn on and the running light goes out. Happened within a few weeks of each other. If fuses are fine, a loose wire somewhere? Any ideas where I should start? I'd like to be more informed before I head to the dealer to have it fixed. Thanks!

A: you have a short somewhere same thing happened 2 me it was a wire in the dash turn the lights on only one side worked and the radio took a crap you just described the same problem i had dont take 2 the dealer unless its still under warrenty take to a respectful auto electrican not some fly by night guy find an older guy because hes been in the game 4 a while he`ll be able to pinpoint the problem quick cuz he`s seen it b4 and he`ll probley cut u a deal and your avatar is hot...

A: there might 2 fuse boxes one under the hood and one in the cabin area. i am not sure where the one in the cabin would be located for sure, just look for a panel on the lower part of the dash that looks like it could be pulled out and a fuse block might be located there. good luck

A: Line output converters will take the speaker connectons and convert them to an rca lowlevel preout, then run the rca to the amp . Go to Wal-Mart there $17.77 just follow the wiring on the package.

Q: 2002 Nissan Pathfinder 4x4 w/ P1130 and P0507 trouble codes?
The P1130 (swirl control valve control solenoid valve) code has come on 3 times in the last 2 months. 1st time a mechanic tested valve operation and it checked out OK, couldn't figure out what caused the code. Now it's come on (3rd time) with this 2nd code P0507 (Idle Control System RPM higher than expected). Are these related or do I have 2 separate issues? Any suggestions on how to resolve these codes?

Q: 2002 Nissan Pathfinder alarm trouble?
My pathfinder has an alarm that keeps going off in the middle of the night. We think it is a cold trigger since it only happens in the winter and last year we just had them disconnect the alarm. I would do it again but it takes away numerous other electrical features, i.e. automatic door locking, interior overhead lights, etc... I'm just wondering if there is a way to remove it without taking away the other stuff, and if not - then roughly how much would it be to fix. Thanks

A: this is a common pathy issue. I'm going thyrouggh this with my 1995xe currently. that is why I am here. First check ur manual. the info youi wan wont be in the book with everything else, but in the warrany area. I have a 2002 Nissan pathfinder se manual. I have owned the truck for about a year and put on 40,000 miles. It now has 130k. A week ago I had a new clutch plate, bearing and flywheel put in at a local dealership. After getting the truck back it noticeably would have a shake at 40-45 miles an hour. Then a week later it suddenly started to shake much worse and I immediately brought it back to the dealership. They told me that my transmission was shot, and that I had atf in my transmission. They stated that this was probably the reason for the failure of the transmission. Thing is I have never had it serviced before and they insist they added no transmission fluid when thy did the clutch. is it really possible that the truck had the wrong fluid in the entire time I owned the truck and it just went bad now? And is it true that they don’t have to drain or add any transmission fluid when doing the clutch? About how much is a replacement tranny going to cost me?

A: Go to another transmission speciality shop you have been had.Tell them the story after they diagnose the problem.And you Best keep all paper work with mileage date and such.Drain and filler plugs will show sign of removal to the trained eye.The drive shaft is either misaligned or 180 from where it should be.Just quessing of course Best of luck.

I can not figure out how to adjust the level of my headlights on my 2003 nissan pathfinder. I think the 2002, 2003 and 2004 pathfinders are all the same, so if somebnody knows, please help me out. Thanks

A: There are two bottle cap looking adjusters on the back side of each headlight housing. using a long #2 Phillips screwdriver you turn the horizontal and vertical adjusters. Easier done at night on a level driveway. Not your houses driveway it slopes Side of a supermarket better chance of finding level Use a tape measure to find the height of the middle of each head light and width and center. Walk to the side of the building with masking tape Places X's for the height and width then back away from the building at least 25 feet aim the lamps up and down then walking behind the car and set the side to side. Or pay for a professional to set them 12" down and 12" to the right like most states say to set lights at 1000 feet.

It's a 4 X 2, 6 cyl., with everything. I think I get about 10 mpg.

A: 10 mpg? good lord that's low. you should be looking at a minimum of 15, and more likely ~19-20 combined. that VQ35 has more than enough power for a unibody suv, and should not be working hard. check your oils, your plugs...ie get a tuneup and see what happens. of course, if you are stomping reallly really hard all the time on the gas, then yeah...it might get that low.

Q: My nissan pathfinder 2002 check engine light goes on and off every few days?
Took vehicle to dealer after light appeared first time, they said it was a small evap leak. Hooked vehicle to smoke machine and they weren't able to find a leak. I have also replaced the old nissan gas cap with a new nissan cap thinking it was bad, but it didn't work. Since then, the light will appear for a few days, then turn off for a few days.

A: there is probley some water that is conecting and disconnecting the sensor of the check engine so dont worry if your really sure that your car is in a good shape and good luck

Right front passenger window on 2002 Nissan Pathfinder. Was smashed by a burglar. Replaced window, but it automatically rolls down a bit now. I believe the system that detects if something is being caught in the window is now incorrectly set so it thinks it's pinching something, and then rolls itself down. How do I reset that system?

A: u have to remove the door panel and there a button on the window motor u have to push it in and hold while u roll the window all the way up then down then back all the way up then release the button if it holds the memory then the window should work normal its not keep trying it but after a few trys if it doesn't hold it and still goes back down half way when use auto function then the motor will have to be replace and have to reset the new motor .. the same way ...
