Q: 2006 Nissan Pathfinder?
Anyone ever have problems with "voltage control system" on their nissan? If so is this a dealer specific part or something I can get at autozone?
A: If you are talking about the voltage regulator it is built into the alternator and Yes we have had some luck in buying aftermarket alternators but I would not suggest auto-zone......rather buy from a better wholesaler parts outlet.

I'm looking for a place thats not going to charge an arm and a leg. I've researched ebay and i've checked places like partsmax and certifit in my area but their out of stock. anything online would be great or in the MIA area

Q: Roof bars that fit the roof rails of a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder... any ideas?
I've noticed the roof rails of my Pathfinder have a very tall profile shape. Has anyone found a good set of roof bars to fit this vehicle? Do Thule make anything to fit? Thanks in advance.
A: nissan has bars available. go to your dealer. otherwise, IDK.
Q: Nissan Pathfinder 2006 model drivers: how do you affix headlamp kit for driving in europe?
It's the one from Halfords. I'm confused.
A: I have in the past had my disagreement's with MOT inspectors, (in NI mind) but I have to agree with gsf1200. go to somewhere that does headlamp alignment.
Q: are heated and non-heated outside mirrors for 2006 Nissan Pathfinder similar by form and fitting?
A: You'll find that the mirrors will physically bolt on to the vehicle but that the electrical connections will differ.
Q: What should replace a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder?
I have a friend who owns a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder SE. To my knowledge, they (her husband and she) financed the car and have at least a few more years to pay it off (at about $350/month). But filling it up has become a problem because it will typically run about $60-70 each time and apparently they can't afford that. The space is necessary as they have one daughter in college and another one who is 7. They live in the city and it's their only car but they bought the vehicle, I believe, with their college-age daughter in mind. Now that daughter wants a slightly used Toyota Matrix for herself while she's in college and they want to buy something less inefficient for themselves.
What kind of comparable vehicles are there that get markedly better mileage? Style is a consideration. No Hyundais or Kias for them. Leather should be at least an option but fuel consumption/cost at the pump is of paramount importance.
A: The Vibe and Matrix have a lot of room for their EPA estimated 32MPG. With that car, you're looking at realistically $40.00 fillups every 350 miles or so. Slightly larger options (and more gas-thirsty) would be the CR-V, RAV-4, Escape, Murano. Also consider the Subaru Forester.
Q: Problems with 2006 Nissan Pathfinder DVD player?
I've had nothing but problems with the factory installed DVD player. I'm now on my 3rd one and am getting sick of taking my car to the dealer. The first 2 times I was getting an "eject error" and DVDs would not play. Yes they were brand new DVDs and yes I tried more than 1. Now, if there is the minutest little finger print or sratch on the DVD, it skips. I can play the same DVD in any other player.
Although the system is a BOSE, I understand that the DVD player is in fact a generic manufactured for Nissan by Panasonic. My questions are these:
Is anyone else having this problem?
Is there a suitable "better quality" replacement for the DVD player?
Nissan will only replace it with the same player. Is there some way to get them to pay for a better one?
Thanks and best answer will be picked in 3 days...promise.
A: Perhaps you need to do a two pronged approach on the problem. If indeed the DVD player is a Panasonic, try http://www.hometheaterforum.com/bbs/archive/23342.html#SERVICECENTERS to get the Panasonic repair center closest to you and ask some questions of them. I'm sure if it is a common problem they would have some suggestions as to solving it. Then, armed with that information you can go back to Nissan and suggest a fix. If worse comes to worse you may have to contact the main offices, but don't give up until it's fixed.

Q: Where can i go to find out where to install an overhead monitor in a 2006 nissan pathfinder se?
A: go to car domain and enter your model and user pics come up heres one http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2188201
Q: Where can I find the best ski carriers for a nissan 2006 pathfinder?
A: Type "4x4 parts" in you search engine. You will get a website that has nothing but Nissan truck & SUV stuff.
Q: Are there any pictures of a lifted 2006 nissan pathfinder or at least with spacers? (3rd gen pathfinder)?
exhausted efforts, cant find a picture of a 2006 nissan pathfinder with a lift or spacers, ANY HELP?!!!?!?!
A: 2006 Pathfinder is essentially a Titan chassis and Armada rear suspension so look at Titan/armada suspension manufactures Like Sky-Jacker NO-Fear Rancho and Highjacker suspension systems and others 3 or 4 inch body lift with a 3 or 4 inch suspension lift keeping in mind the rear drive shaft gets pulled out some so you don't want a 6" lift and 4" suspension lift and you want to keep the front pinion angle the same. Nissan Racing Trucks use a variety of suspension parts so don't get exhausted. Have you checked "Old Man Emu"
Q: How do I get the sound from my dvd player to play over my speakers in my 2006 nissan pathfinder?
A: I work at a Nissan dealership and I am nissan certified for delivery. Check in your owners manual and it will tell you a radio station that you can tune your radio to. I believe it is 88.7.
I will go check in a unit with this and repost if I find anything.
hope this helps.
Q: 2006 nissan pathfinder replacement key?
Hi,
I just bought a 2006 pathfinder and got onnly one key and one remote. My dealer Gainesville Nissan is being "difficult" and does not want to help. The GM told me that if I had caught this at the time of signing they would have cut me anohter key and programmed it, but now they dont care. I am ready to purchase a new key from them but I feel they should at least program it for me, but they refuse. Can these keys be programmed somewhere else, or only dealer?
A: If you bought the car brand new they are supposed to have all 3 keys and a spare remote for you.
If you bought the car used, they may only have one key and they are not required to give you a spare. It can cost up to $400 or more to cut a key and program it because you have what is called a transponder key. I know because I have been there. You need to have a new key cut and programmed. If your car is used, ask the locksmith to reprogram your original key too because there are at least 2 other keys to your car floating around somewhere. You need to have at least 2 keys at all times. You need at least 2 keys to program a third key by yourself. When you pay for the second key to be programmed, have a third one cut and program it yourself to save money.
Check out the link for programming instructions. I had to buy a second key for my truck and they did it for only $50.
Q: Is there a way to hook an ipod to a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder with no aux outlet? WITHOUT an FM tuner?
I've tried using an FM tuner and its just no good in the city I live in. I read some stock radios have and aux outlet in the back... doees anyone know for sure?
A: Do you have a cassette player? I use one of those adapters, and it works like a champ.
Q: How do I connect an 80GB i-Pod to a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder SE with 6CD changer and Bose system?
I want to make sure it works with the car's stereo system....Is there an interface or kit with installation instructions?....Does anyone have any experience with it??....How does the i-Pod kit work with FM tuner??? ...Where is the best place to buy that kit???...Thanks
A: Theres a couple of ways:
1. FM Tuner: This is a device that transmits the sound through the airwaves by FM signals. You simply hook it up, set the frequency (aka. 98.1, 107.7, 88.1, etc, etc) , tune your radio on your existing car stereo to the same channel, and the sound outputs thru your radio. This is convient because it requires no wiring, BUT the quality of the signal is low, and static is common along with the fact that you must control it from your iPod and not your stereo, which can be dangerous while driving.. You can buy them at Best Buy, Circuit City, The Apple Store, Radio Shack, and just about any other store that sells electronics or iPods.
2. Auxilary input: I dont know if pathfinders have one, but some cars do, including honda's, fords, and chevys. Its a small input jack in the front or rear of your radio that simply plugs into the headphone jack like the FM transmitter. Its wired so the sound quality is much better though. The disadvantage to this is that its wired so it has limited movement, and you STILL have to control it from your iPod and not your radio, which again, can be dangerous.
3. iPod Full Speed/Direct: This is the best method. Some headunits (mostly aftermarket) have a feature called iPod fullspeed, or iPod direct. This allows you to plug in a full speed cable, like the one you use to charge and sync your iPod from your computer, into your iPod from the safety of your glovebox, and then browse and scan through it from your headunit. Its wired so it has limited movement, but doesnt need to be moved thanks to the conveince of remote control from the headunit. It also charges your iPod while you drive unlike the other 2 methods, so its ready to be used after your leave your car. And most gloveboxes can be locked, so you can keep it safe. The only problem is that its rare to find this connection stock on vehicles, and replacing the headunit can be expensive (100-1200 dollars, depending on features ((LCD screen, XM, etc.)) ) You can but iPod full speed headunits at electronics and car audio stores, like the ones listed above.
The best choice if you have the money is the Fullspeed, thats what i use in my car, and its nice to be able to control it from my headunit. But its the most expenisve. Some FM transmitters can cost up to 100 dollars or as little as 30, while the AUX input (if equipped) can cost as little as 5 for a small cable.
PS. i looked into your car and couldnt find an interface kit for your specific vehicle, so I assume you'll need to replace the headunit for a fullspeed connection. Good luck, and enjoy your iPod.
