Q: 2000 nissan quest mini van 3.3 v6?
Someone said that you have to remove the intake manifold to replace the knock sensor. Chilton says to remove the fuel injectors, but is this really necessary? Cant you just disconnect the fuel lines and remove the manifold with the injectors intact? Thanks.

A: Nope. You have to disconnect the fuel injectors to get to the knock sensor.

Q: where is the tirejack compartment in a nissan quest 2000 located?

A: Tools are in a zippered bag under the third row seat open the rear hatch insert the lug wrench onto the hex nut and wind the spair tire down pull the tire back unhook the cable gloves would keep dirt off of your hands. Loosen the flat tires lug nuts first. Jack the truck up carefully chock the tires to keep the van fron rolling. Remove the lug nuts flat tire and replace the rim tire assembly. Of course because the tire has not been looked at for 7 years it will not have any air in it when you need it the most!

Q: 2000 nissan quest, it cranks but I have no fire at plugs?

A: distrubotor cap ,or coil

Q: Nissan Quest 2000 Tune up - Spark Plugs - Distributor Cap - Distributor Rotor - Spark Plug Cables.?
I'm about to help my friend to do a tune up on his car a nissan quest 2000. I'm wondering, where are the spark plugs and distributor located ?...how hard is it to do it?.... I did a 2000 mazda mpv a long ago..and it was a nightmare. thanks!

A: No air compressor and long nozzle to blow out the spark plug wells? If you cannot get the sand and gravel out of the wells it will drop into the engine. Other than that go right ahead. Easier than the Mazda MPV. I would recommend a new fuel filter some carb spray to clean the throttle chamber. And you have to ask why is the car need tuning now is it experiencing a check engine light or running rough? Leave well enough alone sometimes is the best recommendation. Injectors on 2000 quests are failing right and left because Ethanol in gasoline. And what if you tune that baby up and the 80,000 plus timing belt breaks? Nissan technicians standing by at dealerships just waiting to empty that guys wallet of any unwanted cash.

Q: where is the throttle pos sensor located in a nissan quest 2000?

A: The throttle position sensor is located on the throttle body, on the opposite side of the throttle linkage (aka the cables and pulley). It should have three or four pin connector.

Q: how many fuel injectors does a 2000 Nissan Quest have? A dealer service consutant says four? 2 repair one 800!
My minivan has been missing with rhe engine light on. Three different autoshops have told me its a fuel injection problem. So Itook it to the Nissan dealer to get it scoped and the verdict is the " #1 fuel injector is gone and that 2,3,4 are bad an on the way out. He says to repair one at a time would cost 800 dollars a piece but its better to get them all done at the same time to save money and cost only 1700 dollars." Is this reasonable or a bunch of bull. what should I do?

A: A Quest would have six injectors. The dealer price for six would be about $1200, plus labor. Figure about four hours. So $1700 is high, but maybe not crazy high. Alternatively, the injectors are available remanufactured for about $35. If you took it to an independent repair facility, you could get this job done for less than half the price.

Q: where is the knock sensor located on 2000 Nissan Quest?

A: Well the knock sensor is located under the lower intake manifold, between the two cylinder banks in the valley. It's about a 3 hour job for an experienced technician, but i have to ask why you want to replace it. If you have a knock sensor code on any nissan replacing the knock sensor will not fix it. The knock sensor detects unwanted engine vibrations, such as miss fires. So if you have a knock sensor code first check your spark plugs, are they ok? (if not replace them). Next quest vans are known for clogging fuel injectors so i would recommend running a can of sea foam injector cleaner or going to your local shop and having a professional injector cleaner run through your car. If problems still persist after having good plugs and running an injector cleaner through, other things to look for would be intake leaks (vacuum leaks), bad mass airflow sensor or a jumped timing belt, which you will need an experienced Technician to check.

Q: I have a Nissan Quest model 2000 and my flasher/blinker won't work. Can anyone tell me what to do?
I 've already tried checking every fuse in the box and I can't seem to find where the relay flasher/blinker is, both underneath the dashboard and under the hood. Is there a special location for this flasher/blinker for this particular model of vehicle?

A: Are you sure it's not just the bulb itself that is burnt out? This would make it so that the circuit would not be completed - possibly? There's usually a fuse panel below the steering column and to the left, and often times one can even be found under the hood as well. Also - on the underside of the cover on these boxes, usually gives a very detailed diagram about where the location of each fuse is, and what functions it might take care of as well. If when you turn the turn signal on, and it blinks very fast, chances are it's the relay. If it stays solid, chances are it's the bulb itself. If it's the relay, locate the appropriate relay, and simply swap it out with another similar one found in the panel, and re-check the signal light to see if that fixed it. Often times I've found this is the quickest way to diagnose and fix the problem rather than buying the parts first and throw money at it. Good luck!

Q: My Nissan Quest 2000 start ok on "Park" but when I change to " D" , the car would stall. Any suggestion ??
I have change out the timing belt, spark plug ..any one has had this kind of problems on your Nissan Quest 2000.

A: Torque convertor is locked up and won't release. ???

Q: How to change fuel filter on 2000 Nissan Quest?
I need to know how to do it, where it is, the difficulty level, and any probs I might encounter. Something I read said I'd have to pressurize/ depressurize the system. Is that crazy or do I need to, and if so, how do I do that? Do I need special tools? I can get most tools if I have to.

A: Just make sure you disconnect your battery first. You dont want any surprizes. Its pretty simple. Disconnect the fuel line and stick a rag in it. Undo any clamps and take off the other fuel line. Stick a rag in that too. Put on the new filter plug in the lines attach and tighten the clamps and drive around the block to check it. Dont forget to reattach the batttery or.............you wont go far! No special tools. Without any experience you should be able to figure it out in half an hour.

Q: Where is the camshaft sensor located in a 2000 nissan Quest?
Is it easy to replace myself?

A: THE CAMSHAFT SENSOR IS BUILT INTO THE DISTRIBUTOR ASSEMBLY. I DO NOT THINK THAT YOU CAN BY THIS BY ITSELF BUT IF YOU CAN FIND ONE IT IS NOT A JOB FOR YOU.

Q: Can anyone get me a vacuum line diagram for a 2000 Nissan Quest?
I have a vacuum line coming from the top right of the transaxle, drivers side, that line has came loose and I cannot find where it goes. It has a curved metal piece at the top of the line. Can anyone tell me where it connects? Is it on the intake manifold or the throttle, because it is just below these.

A: I'm not 100% sure, but I just recently noticed on my '99 Altima that there is a vacuum diagram under my hood. It's one of those stickers that's like the one to tell you how the belts go on...in that area. Give that a quick check. Other than that...Nissan forums are typically the best way to go. http://www.nissanforums.com/nissan-models/
