Q: A/C cuts out while car is idling, yet blows cold while car is running.?
I have a 2001 Nissan Quest that has ice cold a/c as long as the car is moving. Once we stop at a light or traffic it starts to blow room temperature air. This only happens on really hot days. Any ideas on what could be causing this and what it may cost to repair it? Thanks!
A: all vehicles are equipped with low pressure sensors to protect the compressor in the event of loss of freon etc.. at idle there is the pressure drops and senses it two low and shuts down the compressor like its supposed to do. as the rpms increase the pressure becomes normal and kicks in the compressor. on hot days the heat it effects the balance in the system. without actually being there to evaluated it, the problem seems to be lack of freon. natural leakages occur over time especially if you never had the a/c checked. have a mechanic check it out and add freon. i always see specials on this service.
Q: clicking noise from cv joints?
I test drove a 2001 Nissan Quest. The price is very good(maybe too good)? When I made a tight turn the wheels(sounded like both left and right)made clicking noises. I asked the seller about it and he said that both CV joints had been replaced recently. Something about the drive seemed wierd though. Like the frame, or something was bent. There were random noises and squeeks coming from different parts of the body frame. I asked the seller if the car had ever been in an accident and he said no. I don' t know. I just got the feeling like the car had maybe been driven into a ditch and something got bent or broken, but I couldn't visibly see anything. Any ideas?
A: Clicking from the CV joints in tight turns means they are worn. Check if boots are split once that happens dirt gets in and wears the CV joint.

Nissan quest 2001 is my car model. I have a vhs system already installed but the screen/monitor is fried. I need to replace it but i have no clue where to get it. it has about 73,000 miles on it...when i stop at a stop the car and then release the brake the car seems to stall...the RPM goes down to almost 0 then i have to give it hard pedal to go back to normal...n e idea what is causing it...i went to mechanics sum said sensors "ITS" sensor or sumthin...but ima have the dealer check it out...
A: You'll have to take this to a dealer or to a mechanic that has the right tool. A mechanic will have a tool that plugs into the car's computer and can read out what's causing the trouble. There could be any number of problems causing the symptoms you're getting, and only a readout from the computer will give you a clue.

But if both are operating the same way it is not the individual motors if they are power windows.

A: Under the glove box just follow the wires to the bolwer motor to the blower resistor. Two #2 silver philips screws 10 minutes tops. A word of warning if the blower is drawing to many amps the new resistor won't last to long. 10 amp draw and up to 15 on start up that is why there two 15 amp blower fuses. DIY after you pick up the correct replacement part either for Villager or Nissan quest same year either manual or auto climate control.. Good Luck

My wife's Nissan Quest has a heater problem. It takes literally 20-30 minutes for the heater to start getting warm. Fan works fine, engine is not overheating, AC works fine. Suggestions?
A: Some possibilities:
* thermostat is opening too soon. This is typically located on the engine inside the hose going to the top of the radiator, under the fitting the hose is attached to.
* build up inside the heater core - a power flush may help.
* collapsed heater hose.

A: Around $40 cost of part,and just 2 phillips screws to remove under the glove box,near the floor.Same resistor for AC and heater (only 1 blower in front for HVAC)
