Q: Nissan Quest= Gas Eating machine?!?
I currently drive a 2004 nissan quest...I've noticed it uses up so much gas!! I can't go through a week w/ moderate driving miles, w/o filling up the gas tank! if u have one or know one who has , what do you think?
im not sure how many miles i drove, but I do also drive an Acura MDx, which i use as much as the Nissan Quest, and a definite difference in the gas station is present. I can go with the Mdx for 2 weeks + w/o refilling.
A: they are a little hard on gas,,i own a repair shop,,and have a customer who has one we tuned it up,and now she says her mileage is real good on it,,we also installed a better air filter in it,, i think this helped it more than anything,,try getting a K&N filter for it and see if that dont help it out some it did the one i worked on,and it might help yours also,,good luck with it ,i hope this help,s.
Q: Nissan Quest Owners?
I have a 2004 Nissan Quest and I LOVE it. Wouldnt trade it for anything but I have 2 complaints about it and would love to know if you do too.
1) My Front Window defroster is REALLY SLLLLOOOWWWW
2) When the tempurature is below 32, my rear sliding doors will not open (they are not electiric doors)
Does anyone else have this problem?
Ok, I used WD40 on the doors today, we will see if it works.
As for the defroster, my heater works fine and so does my AC.
A: I would suggest checking out the Nissan Online Mechanic section of

Other people are bound to have the same problems. You might also call your local Nissan dealership to see if there are any Technical Service Bulletins for these problems.
Q: Nissan Quest Engine Proformance?
i have a 2004 Nissan Quest and i want to add some Proformance parts to the engine. Is there anything i can do to the engine to get more HP???
A: You have the VQ35DE engine from the Maxima, Altima, and others. In the Quest, it produces 240 hp (179 kW) and 242 lb·ft (328 N·m) of torque.
Find performance product made for those cars and you will have an idea of what you can do. Can you make those parts fit? That is going to take a bit more research.
See if this fits -

Q: My nissan quest passegr power window bounces down when closed.only stepbystep closing works.pls help!?
I have purchased a 2004 nissan quest today!! after coming home with it, we found out that the passenger power window bounces down a little when we are trying to close it at once. if we close it step by step, it remains closed! what can be the problem? pls help!! should we take it back to the dealer?....does any kind of warranty cover this problem?
A: You must reset the auto down and up power window. Better call the salesman and the dealer to see if they want to do it for free. Adjustments are not covered after 12 months and 12,000 miles. So that said there is a rubber covered button (door panel removed) that button needs to be depressed while the window is lowered and raised with the manual mode on the window switch. Generally the power windows get out of sync when the battery is disconnected for a while you better check the sunroof if your van has roof it should automatically open and close too.

Q: how to reprogram 2004 nissan quest key fob?
A: 1. Close and lock all doors with the driver’s side power lock/unlock switch.
2. Insert key into ignition and remove it from the ignition key cylinder at least six times within 10 seconds. Your Hazard Lamps will flash if you have performed this step successfully. ( Withdraw key completely from ignition cylinder each time ) . If this procedure is performed too fast, system will not enter programming mode.
3. Insert key into the ignition cylinder and turn to the ACC position.
4. Within 5 seconds, push ANY button on the keyless remote. Your Hazard Lamps should flash. ( Do not press the button more than one time in the above step). If the button is pressed more than one time, the programming procedure will not be successful.
5. If there are any remaining remotes (including the old ones), unlock then lock all doors using the driver’s side power lock/unlock switch and within 5 seconds, push ANY button on the next remote. Your Hazard Lamps should flash. Repeat this step for each keyless remote (including any existing keyless remotes).
6. Turn the key to the OFF position, remove keys from the ignition, unlock doors using the driver’s side power lock/unlock switch and open the driver side door.
Q: Attention: 2004 Nissan Quest owners?
Considering purchasing a 2004 Nissan Quest with 20,000 miles. What are some of the pros and cons of this vehicle if any? Have you had many or "any" problems with it? Are we better off just buying a 2007? The money situation is not a factor. I have read so many negative reviews on both years, that I have just really gotten myself confused on what would be best. Please advise.. Thanks
A: The Quest is a pretty awesome van. I drive one for work ( at a nissan dealership) a couple days a week. We have over 80,000 on our 05 and very few complaints.
The problems you see and hear about are all very very minor. It still scores low though because a lot of people complain about these little squeaks and rattles, all of which the dealer will gladly fix under warranty.
The drivetrain is straight out of the Maxima, and has been tried and tested for years to be one of the best available. JD Power says so =)
The available navigation, burnt orange leather, rear view camera, the SKYLIGHTS which are truly unique as well as the fact that they are all powered by a stout 245hp V6 make it my choice. Its just the "cooler" van I think.
Money no issue I'd get an 07 as they have an entirely different dash, as well as a ton of woodgrain and aluminum accents, nicer controls, and not to mention you get to start with a fresh warranty to cover the little pieces that everyone moans about.
Like I said though, ours has never had any of the problems I see them brought in for, commonly squeaks in the hatch, rear vent window switch operation, and early battery failure in the TX heat.
PS I rag on it pretty hard as well, I'm no grandapa driver. Your van will probably never see a WOT acceleration, but ours does every week and hasn't missed a beat =)
Q: how many oil capacity for 2004 nissan quest with 3.5L?
engine oil capacities of 2004 nissan quest with 3.5L
A: 4.25 quarts
Q: How do I remove a DVD that is stuck in the player? It's in the single disk player of my 2004 Nissan Quest.
The player is separate from the cd/stereo. It's under the passenger seat. If I have to listen to the Rescue Heroes one more time I'm gonna flip out! My sanity is at stake here!
A: If the reset button does not work, try unplugging the unit and plugging it back in. This is considered a 'hard reset'.
If it still does not work, take it to an independently owned car audio shop. They will be able to get it out for a fraction of the cost the dealership or a large retailer like best buy would charge.
Q: 2004 nissan quest tire pressure and mileage problems?
I have driven my car for 4 years with nothing major wrong with it. Then the interior lights stopped working and the dealer said I had to replace the BCM. So we did and the lights started working but the tire pressure light was on so he says we have to get it checked to fix it. Now I just found out the car that was giving me 22-23 mpg is now only giving me 15. How is that possible? Did they screw up my car? Or can this be fixed? Please help.
The tires are fine theres something wrong when they put in the new BCM, they know they have to fix it. But how can the engine sound funny and give low mileage right after they changed the part. The guy admitted it himself that the engine was good when I took it in to check the interior lights.
A: Replacing the BCM was the right move. The dealer wasn't screwing you, just so you know.
Sudden mileage problems are evident of a real problem with the car, probably something much worse then electrical, I am afraid. Get a tire pressure gauge (like a buck at an auto parts store) and check that your tires are inflated correctly. If they are, then you need the car looked at again, this time checking for engine problems.
Q: How much would a 2004 nissan quest SL be worth?
Its made about 39,000 kiloemtres.
A: I would give it a $14,998
Q: 2004 Nissan Quest shuts down after panel lights flash?
My 2004 Quest was not responding to the gas. I looked at the panel and the brake and battery light were flashing together. Then the instrument panel turned off shortly followed by the engine shuting down. Tried to start, and it wouldn't , i needed a jump. Once it was jumped it was fine for about 2 minutes, and then it would repeat the above and shut down. Now that i have it home, i cant get this to repeat in order to get a fault code. Anyone had this problem before or any suggestions?
A: It's stalling out. The panel lights are just indicating that the key is turned but the van's not running.
Has your clock reset to 12:00? You may have a loose battery connection.
Really, anything else should set a fault code (Cam Pos Sensor, Crank Pos Sensor, spark or fuel issue).
Q: How do I find out if my 2004 Nissan Quest SE is prewired for dvd, without taking into or calling the dealer?
I know that the dvd unit is supposed to be installed under the passengers seat and there are 2 wire harnesses under there that are not plugged in to anything but they are too short to reach over to where the dvd unit gets installed, if not the dvd unit then what are these 2 wire harnesses for? I have read that the 2004 Quest is prewired for dvd. Please help??!!?!?!?!
A: There are so many DVD units on the market today that offer head rest monitors and dual Disk players so each kid can watch what they want or play games. Nissan player is just a DVD. I would reccomend going aftermarket.
