Q: PLEASE ANSWER MY QUESTIONS!!!!?
I just got a DVD system put in my car TODAY, what's wrong with it?
So, I just bought a 2006 Nissan Quest (about 3 weeks ago) and got a factory DVD player and a fold down monitor installed in it today. Here's the deal: the monitor works and the DVD player works BUT they will not work together. I can have the monitor on but as soon as I turn on the DVD player the whole things shuts down (and it won't turn back on)or I can have the DVD player on and as soon as I turn on the monitor the whole thing shuts down (and it will not come back on). However, I can turn off the car and then start the car again and it will work again, just not together.
What is wrong with it and how can I get it fixed? Also, how much will it cost to fix it (I live in Texas if that helps any)?
Thank you in advance, I appreciate any and all input!
A: just go back to whoever installed it for you.they are responsible for this and you should just go back and not worry about this because you paid them
Q: Minivan Mania!!!!!?
I had my heart set on buying a Subaru Outback/Impreza or a Honda Accord but I have a family of 6 and in all reality we dont fit! I currently have a 1996 Dodge Caravan with 163k sitting in the parking lot. Ive been using my wife's Nissan Sentra to move around I was feeling the small car 4-cyl fever but I have no choice but to stick with a minivan again. I would try an SUV but they hard on the pockets with the gas. I havent had luck with the Caravan I have now since I did buy it with 138k and was not too car smart back in June 2006 when I bought it. Its given me hell Ive spent so much money on it tune up, transmission, brakes you name it..
Well, my question is... I have $3,500 - $4,000 to spend and I need a minivan...what brand should I get. Do I go back to a Caravan? Maybe a 99' 2000+? Ford Windstar? Plymouth Voyager? Nissan Quest? I need advice I dont want to make the same mistake I made with the Caravan I have now.. thanks!
A: The Windstar would be cheapest and is a cousin of the Quest, I don't really know why but they have NO resale value-I traded for many of them and resold them with few complaints Stay under the 100k mileage mark. The Dodge/Plymouth would be more plentiful since more of them were built than any other, but tend to cost more.

A: Something is wired wrong. Take it back to whoever installed it. They are responsible to wire it correctly so that it works they way it is designed to. If you leave it wired improperly then you risk the chance of burning up either the DVD player or the monitor. Stop trying to use it until it gets fixed. Did you buy this from a Nissan Dealership? They are the only one who would be able to get the actual "factory" equipment. Otherwise I doubt that it is factory unless it is used and possibly from a salvage yard.

I know it doesn't belong in this category, but the auto category just isn't as popular as this one!
A: You should take it back, the dvd player and the monitor don't work together not compactable
Q: has anybody bought a nissan Quest Van if so how do you like it?
mainly a 2006
A: I havn't bought one, Ive tested on though, and personally I didn't think it was all that. The Honda Odessy is alot better, and it's rated as the best van out there. I would advise you to look into it as an alternative to the Nissan.
Q: mazda mpv or nissan quest?
want a used one between 2004-2006 or so.
Which is better,
and which other ones are good?
.
A: First of all, chevystepside is wrong - the MPV and the Quest share absolutely nothing - Mazda has no partnership with Nissan. The older Quest was also rebadged as a Mercury Villager - he's confused.
Now for your question - I have an 04 Quest, and I know two people with the newer MPV. Both are decent vehicles, but the Quest is much larger/roomier, and also has a much stronger engine. That said, although mechanically fine (and gets good mileage for a big box), the quality of the quest is lacking compared to the Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna. They will cost a bit more used, however.
My picks for late model minivans would be:
1 - Odyssey
2 - Sienna
3 - Quest
The Mazda wouldn't be on my shopping list at all, primarily because it's too small for my family - but if it's big enough for you, it's worth a look. It drives well, I've been told.
Hope this helps!
Q: Anyone have any info about the Nissan Quest?
I am looking to trade a 2004 Dodge Durango Slt in for a 2006 Nissan Quest, is this a good idea, I haven't heard a lot about the Quest.
A: its a pretty nice van , to me it looks a lil bulky but its a good safe reliable minivan.
Q: Can you trade in a new car for something of less value to get lower monthly payments?
Our brand new 2006 Nissan Quest is costing us $750 a month. Is there a way to trade it in for something less costly with lower payments? We've only had it since June of 2006 and have made a few payments.
A: Not very likely but it won't hurt to find out for sure.
Unless you put down a large down payment on your Quest, you probably owe several thousand more than it's worth. That would have to be added to the loan on any replacement vehicle that you bought. This would limit your choices on any replacement vehicles as there's not going to be enough "wiggle room" on a cheap vehicle to cover that excess amount. A relatively expensive vehicle might have that "wiggle room" but is only going to leave you in the same situation that you're currently in or possibly even worse.
Q: around 100miles on new 2006 nissan quest. should i go for it?
A: if the dealer is selling this find out how did it get those miles. And if I was you I would not give them the full price and for the one that has 5 miles on it. IF they are asking the same price then tell them to get you one without any miles on it.
Q: Nissan Quest 2006 S Shift Lever Stuck in Park. HowToFix,Driving around with screw driver in slot per dealer ?
Happens random times, average twice a week, since nissan service had never seen it do it they said they can't start replacing parts or working on it. The tail lights come on when the brake is applied before trying to push in the grip on the shift lever but sometimes the grip won't go in and the only solution is inserting a screw driver in the slot in dash to over ride. This is the dealer' advice! Anyone else having this problem?
Still under warranty and this is getting very annoying to explain to passengers that we have to drive a fairly new Nissan Quest around with a screw driver stuck in the dash to make it go! 13000 miles
A: Still in Warranty means leave it at the dealer until it is fixed. Get them to rent you a car until your Quest is fixed. It is not all that hard with that shifter stuck out of the center stack to replace the entire shifter or where I would start is brake light switch then check when it is acting up at the shifter with the oval cluster lid removed. There is a Diode in that circuit that may have failed.
Q: Nissan Quest 2006 Paint chipping off...?
I have a two year old car and the paint is chipping off all over the place. Nissan told me they will not repaint it because it is due to the environmental friendly paint (water based) and the driving conditions. I had a few cars before and this never happened to any of those. My husband has a truck which is used for work in harsh conditions and it does not happen to it. I don't know what to think. Nissan also told me that if someone else would have the same car and drives the same roads I do, they would have the same problem.
I checked out another Nissan Quest 2006 in town which was the same color (burgundy) and it had the same poblem. They didn't drive on the same roads I do but they still have the problem. So I think it is the paint not the driving conditions that causes the chipping.
What should I do?
A: Did you purchase the Quest new? how many miles? 1 800 NISSAN 1 is the phone number start with a customer care report then back to the dealership preferably the one that has a Body Shop.I have seen many paint flaws chipping paint due to rock impacts is not a warranty condition. Paint separation of clear coating and color coating is a warranty condition. And the Van is three model years old now. Good Luck
Q: 2006 Nissan Quest: Is the battery negatively or possitively grounded?
A: negatively grounded
Q: i owe 17k for my 2006 Nissan quest can i turn it in and get a smaller car and owe less?
i want to finish paying a car or lower the payment but dont want to refinance
A: If you get a different car you will still have to pay the balance on your 2006 Nissan Quest. That payment just doesn't end. The problem with lowering the payment by getting another car is they may only give you a little on the trade which you would still have to pay the rest that is owed on the Quest. You may need to refinance unless you sell it privately and get enough to pay off the balance.
Q: I have a 2006 Nissan Quest that the rear sonar doesn't work. How do I fix it?
I have a 2006 Nissan Quest that the rear sonar doesn't work. The button on the dash is always off. How do I fix it. Is it a fuse?
A: If it does not beep at all change the beeper unit behind the spedometer first. I had one two days ago that needed a sonar control unit. Most the time it is just the beeper. Some times a damaged back up sensor. There is a way if the beeper works to enter the diagnostics. By turning on the key and watch the sonar off light gos out and imedataly push ths sonar switch on and off ten times in 10 seconds then it will beep out codes.... But I would leave the repair to Nissan because the Van is only 2 years old it has to be warranty or Nissan May offer the repair to you free if you ask for them to good will the repair ASK your Nissan Service advisor.
