Q: Cost to get Driver side hub bearing replaced on 1999 Nissan Sentra Gxe?
I was wondering how much it would cost to get my 1999 nissan sentra gxe's hub bearing replaced. Just a rough estimate. thank you.
A: Your Answer:
The hub bearing (for the rear) is $79 at http://mibearings.com/paypalparts/512025...
I assume your talking about the rear, because the front just has a press in bearing, not the hub.
If you need the estimate for the front wheel bearing, go to http://mibearings.com and fill out the from on the right.
You are looking at $50 to $140 for labor (per bearing), it all depends on who you go to.
I hope that helps!
(also, if you buy the bearing off the web, and have the pros install it, you'll save a lot of money.)
Q: 1999 Nissan Sentra Ignitions Cylinder Installation?
I change the ignition cylinder in my nissan sentra 1999, but for some reason does not work at all. It does not even make a noise when I insert the key. I checked the fuses and all of them are ok. Even the radio does not turn on. Battery fine. I was wondering it this car is protected with some kind of security or a re-set switch. Can you please help me if you know.
Thanks
A: You might want to check if there is a fuseable link that is burned out. To check this, You either need a Test light and or ohm-meter, Voltage-meter. Also, You need to look at the wiring schametics.
Q: 1999 Nissan Sentra--highbeams indicator on, one headlight out?
I have a 1999 Nissan Sentra. When I turn the headlights on, the high beams indicator is on, and only one headlight is on. I can turn on the brights no problem. After a while (10-20 minutes) the brights indicator goes off and the regular light turns on. Sometimes the light never comes on. I suspect a wiring problem. How hard/expensive will it be to fix?
A: I would be looking to replace the combo switch after you remove it you can snap off an opaque cover and inspect the reed like contacts the discolored one is that high beam contact that has bad connection and it overheated. Also if you put in stronger light bulbs than the 55watt/85 watt that tends to make the combo switch suffer. Sentra 1999 I owned I used 75 watt x 100 watt bulbs but I also used two relays for my high beams wired directly to the battery under the hood.
Q: 1999 Nissan Sentra - How do remove a key stuck in the ignition ?
The key is stuck in the ignition . The car starts fine and runs good. You just can't remove the key. The car is an automatic.
I have put the car in park and neutral , with no luck
A: Have you put the car in park before trying to remove the key?
Q: Do 1999 Nissan Sentra GXE have rack and pinion steering?
Just curious. I am thinking about buying a 99 Nissan, but I cannot stand rack and pinion steering so can anyone tell me?
A: Please share what is bad about rack and pinion?
I am not questioning your opinion. I have just never heard anyone say this before.
Q: Is it possible to convert a 1999 Nissan Sentra to an electric car? How hard would it be?
It's leaking oil right now and has 104k on it. I was wondering if in the future doing this would be better than selling it for a few hundred dollars. How would you do that? I've seen converted trucks that run on a bunch of regular car batteries. What would it cost? A little under $10k?
I think the oil has something to do with a gasket head and it would cost almost $1000 to repair or more. I forgot. I am a young person so I might have this car for a long time.
A: All most any car can be converted. The most exotic I have done is a 1933 Rolls Royce. It isn't cheap, the average conversion is 15k. YOU have to want to do it for the environment and to never buy gas again. It isn't for everybody but if you only travel 30-50 miles a day it is very doable.
Q: 1999 Nissan Sentra cruise control doesn't work, what could be the problem?
I press the cruise control switch on and it turns on the light in the button. When I set control , the cruise light just flashes. It doesn't set the speed or anything. The only way it stops flashes is if I press the cruise control switch off.
A: The flashing light is telling you there is a problem with the cruise control and it cannot set the speed. There are several safety inputs on a cruise control system and if any one of them is bad the system won't work. I would have a shop check it out.
Q: What are the steps for replacing the head gasket for a 1999 Nissan Sentra?
It looks fairly easy, but I do not know if there is anything that I should know first. Also, how long does the book say it takes to replace?
A: It is very easy if you know how to do it, and you have the correct tools. If you don't have the tools, it is cheaper to pay a professional. The tools will run you several hundred dollars.
For a first timer, with good mechanical skill and the correct tools, and you have all the misceallaneous shop supplies on hand in addition to the parts, it will take 1 to 1½ days. The second time, it will take less, and assymtopically approach a few of hours, plus clean up.
The thing that takes a long time is removing everything above the head, and marking the connections so that you put them back correctly. After you have the head gasket replaced, making sure the cam(s) are properly timed take time too - get it wrong, and you will be replacing a lot more than the head gasket.
Q: What could be the problem with my 1999 Nissan Sentra XE?
My car would not start this morning my dad believes the car got flooded while starting. The spark plugs have been changed but no luck. It seems like the gas may not be getting through somewhere. Or maybe due to the cold that something could be frozen. What could possibly be the problem.
A: Battery, starter, fuel pump. They could all be the problem. It could also be the backup/neutral safety switch. Hope this helps.
Q: How do you fix the fan speed control on 1999 Nissan sentra when it only works at the highest speed?
A: Replace the fan resistor.
Q: How much would the average cost be for a 100,000 mile tune up on a 1999 nissan sentra?
A: 1 million yen
Q: I bought a 1999 Nissan Sentra for about $5000 with little over 120,000 miles of mileage, is this a good buy?
The car is in good condition and working fine
A: yes, I doesn't really matter if you buy a new Nissan Sentra or a 1999 model. when you buy a new car and drive the first hundred meters, the value of the car depreciate and it continue to do so rapidly over the next years. So I think it is a good buy!
Q: How much does it cost to fix a tire rod(?)? I have a 1999 Nissan sentra.?
A: Ball joints for a 1999 Nissan sentra run 50 dollars apiece at auto parts warehouse at the site below for a price reference. I would recommend having them put on at a local small garage to save money over having them put on at a dealership. I expect you could get away with having one side done top and bottom ball joints for around 200.00 installed if you use a local small garage to fix it . Good luck I've had a sentra myself and had very good luck with it so it's worth the fix.
Q: Turning lights on my 1999 nissan sentra do not work?
The front turning light on my nissan sentra was replaced due to an accident. That was the only damaged light all others were fine. The turning lights go on, but do not flicker when the turning signal is activated. the turning signals inside the dashboard don't turn on either. Might it be the fuse?
A: i own a repair shop, and you need to check the flasher for them, its probably went out on it,they do this sometimes i have a 87 model, and they go about every 3-4 months on it,,good luck,i hope this help,s
