Q: Does a 2004 Nissan Sentra exhaust system fit a 2001 Sentra gxe?
I have a 2004 Nissan Sentra exhaust system, but i am wondering if it will fit my 2001 Nissan Sentra gxe. Would it matter what type of Sentra it is or will they all fit each other?

A: no they are not. they use different exhaust manifolds

Q: On a 2001 Nissan Sentra GXE will 13 inch steel rims fit, I know 14 is stock?
I have a set of 13 inch wheels that fit fine on 92 civic cx. I have a 2001 Nissan sentra gxe with 14 x 6 steel rims on which I would like to place these 13 x 5 inch wheels with winter tires for the season since they are narrower, they will cut through snow better. I know they have the same bolt pattern, but will they clear the brakes? Also, lug size is 12mm x 1.5 for the ones off the civic, the ones currently on the sentra are 12 mm x 1.25 lug size, does this matter?

A: hey i use to own a 92 civic cx too they r so cool n fun to drive i dont think it would clear the nissan front disk breaks but u can atleast try

A: The labor guide for a skilled technician calls for - Complete assembly with transfer of parts 5.2 hours, to flush lines and remove and replace torque converter add an extra hour. Hope you have step by step instructions to make it easier.

My girlfriends 2001 Nissan Sentra needs an oil change bad and i need to know what's the best motor oil for it. It has about 130,000 miles in it already and it has a 1.8 engine.

A: Shell Rotella 5w40 synthetic... and stay away from the fram filters

Q: I need help on facts about a 2001 Nissan Sentra swirl control valve?
What is a swirl control valve, what does it do, what is its purpose, and where is it located... This is about a 2001 Nissan Sentra

A: The intake manifold houses a swirl control valve in each passage way of each cylinder. During idling and low engine speed, the valve closes to increase the velocity of airflow to each cylinder. This also promotes fuel vaporization and produces a swirl in the combustion chamber.

Q: Can I purcahse a Monsoon sound system for my 2001 nissan sentra?
I heard that system inside of a 2006 jetta.I want those speakers or whole unit for my nissan,,,help

A: You could buy the entire system out of a VW if you wanted. The speakers will hook right up but the head unit will require an adaptor and you would also need the radio code for it. If your car came stock with an amp then the monsoon amp should be a direct fit but it would be costly. You would probably be better off finding a good quality aftermarket setup for your car.

Q: How much should i offer to pay for a 2001 Nissan Sentra GXE with 54,000 miles from a dealership?
The car has a small scrape/dent on the front of the hood. I think they were going to get it out but its paint missing too. So what should I offer to pay them? Kelly Blue Book says $8,300 for excellent condition but the car isnt in excellent condition and i am looking to put $1,000 cash down. Also how many miles will it last me?

A: An 01 Nissan seems reasonable to me. I think that would be the time when Ford hadn't yet bought Nissan. So the car should be in decent shape. Plus the miles are low too. KBB isn't the rule to go by. Its very inaccurate a lot of times. You haven't mentioned any options on the car such as Power Windows locks etc. Edmunds suggests a TMV of 5100 http://www.edmunds.com/used/2001/nissan/sentra/100001605/options.html?tmvaction=vdpresult I'll try to bargain to get him to match that or lower than that. Else I will say have a nice day and walk out of there.

Q: How do I remove the electrical connector to the windshield washer tank on a 2001 Nissan Sentra?
This has nothing to do with any light bulb! The windshield washer is not working because one of the wires on the connector to the washer pump motor is broken. So I need to remove the connector from the tank to fix the broken wire. But I cannot figure out how to get it off, it is attached very tightly! Can anybody help?

A: Why?? What are you trying to do? If it is not working properly and always reading empty just pull the light bulb. That is the easy way out. But why are you doing it?

Q: How do you remove the starter, from a 2001 Nissan Sentra SE ?
It appears to be necessary, to remove the intake manifold from the cylinder head, in order to access the starter mounting bolts. I hope, I am missing something. I can't believe, so much disassembly is required, to replace the starter. The engine size is 2.0 liter. The transmission is a manual five speed transmission. The vehicle was manufactured in the last quarter of the model year. Mark, I am sure I can figure it out. However, It will probably involve a lot of unnecessary disassembly. If you can look it up, and at least point me in the right direction; it would be greatly appreciated.

A: pull the air box if memory serves and use a ratchet with an extension and a swivel and you can get them no you dont have to pull the intake

Q: I have a 2001 nissan sentra 1.8litre and it's getting very bad gas mileage what may be the causes?
If anybody can give me some solution or solutions to the problem I'm having with my car it would be greatly appreciated.

A: Watch out they are taking fuel out at night. Next month they will replace the fuel so you think your getting 100 miles a gallon. Any thing to go on here? No check engine light, clean air filter? properly filled oil level dipstick is not broken off? I work on those cars every day. Very rarely do we have milage complaints. Most auto trans Sentras get around 29 to 32 miles a gallon when driven like your grandfather did. Manual automatic? and how many miles? any weird noises? Just how many miles to a tank full do you get and did you devide gallons into miles? Your 20" rims low profile tires look great? But sure cut your gas mileage? Any recent repairs?

Q: 2001 Nissan Sentra. Wont start. Lights work. Gauges work. No turn over?
I had the starter replaced about 3 months ago. The battery about a year ago. Now all of a suddent the darn thing doesnt even turn over. When I try, I hear soemthing that sounds like a relay trying to kick in but no start. Any idea what to check?

A: First check the battery. Just because you have lights doen't mean there is eneff juice in the battery to turn the starter. Also remove the battery clamps and clean then really good. If after having the battery checked it still clicks then the starter is gone and will need replacing, but check that battery first.

Q: Does anyone know what tools are needed to replace a head gasket in a 2001 Nissan Sentra GXE 1.8L?
My brother is going to be fixing my car this week, and I want to make sure he has all the tools on hand that he will need!

A: Never attempt to just change a head gasket without having the cylinder head checked for flatness at an automotive machine shop. The surface that faced the top of the block most likely is warped. That's why the head gasket is leaking now! Seriously, my brother in law just removed the cylinder head from a Dodge six cylinder gas motor. A machine shop had to remove .028 from the cylinder head surface just to make it flat again! He'll need a 1/2 set of metric sockets, a 16" ratchet, a 1/2" torque wrench, surface scraper, shop manual (Haynes, Chilton's or Motors), shop cloths, container for the old antifreeze, fresh antifreeze, head gasket and any other specialty tools for parts removal that Nissan may have hidden inside the valve cover.

Q: Why is my 2001 Nissan Sentra's floor heater only blowing cold air?
The defrost and the front panels work fine, but when I turn it on to the floor it blows cool air. Also, I just had the radiator, Waterpump, and themostat replaced.

A: It sounds like it could be a blend/mode door or there may be a blockage. I haven't had a call on one of those cars for that problem, but really the only things it could be. If you live in the country or park out side with alot of tree rats (chipmunks) a blockage's is what I would think it would be. Usually no heat is either the heater core or blend door problem, with it only being on the floor it sounds like it would be most likely some sort of blockage. Sentra's I've had usually do get rodents inside if parked out side. About as much as a honda! (many many many) Does it smell off when it's running or if you can hear anything moving in there other then the door and the fan it's got a blockage. Some units although don't seem to blow near as warm through the floor as other settings (heat likes to rise) but if its cool that would be best guess's with out looking at it/ diag

Q: how do i remove the ball joint from the front wheel of a 2001 nissan sentra.?
I need to replace the wheel studs but I can't unless i remove the hub. to get the hub off I need to remove 2 ball joint connections, one is on the steering arm and the other is on the A-arm.

A: You can beat it with a hammer and it will bust loose.
