Q: How do I replace the sideview mirror on a 2002 Nissan Sentra?
I want to get a mirror that matches my paint, not one of the black plastic replacement mirrors. The dealership wants to charge me $170 plus painting and installation. Do you think I could find a replacement at a junk yard or used auto parts dealer?

A: well it depends u can get one from the junk yard but most likely the paint would not match up so u gotta go to an body shop and ask them to paint the one u got from the junkyard to match ur car they would be happy to do it

Q: my nissan sentra 2002 fog lights dont work?
they both went out presumably the same time either i have to buy new bulbs and replace them or could it be a spark plug or something? idk i have a nissan sentra se-r 2002 how can u tell by looking at the fuse box?

A: #1 check your fuses in the fuse box

Q: 2002 Nissan Sentra Left Turn Signal Problem?
I have some problem with my Nissan Sentra. When the beam is on, The Left signal and Emergency light lit solid and they do not blinking at all. But Right signal works. But, when I turn off the beam, then the right & emergency lights works fine. Anyone has any idea what is going on with my Nissan? Thank you.

A: make sure the correct bulbs are in place to begin with. second it could be a ground problem. the reason for this is for a light to work it need power and ground. when it does not have a good ground circuit it tries to find it though other circuits causing weird things to happen. third if there was a short and someone tried to fix it with a bigger fuse. you could have wires melted together. causing mixed circuit problems. these problems were my favorite to fix. 16 yrs ASE retired

I have a 2002 Nissan Sentra SER 2.5 lit 6-speed. The problem is the car sputters, the rpms drop and the car shuts off. The service light comes on. At start up the car hesitates then idles with rpms at 0. When I hit the gas there is a pop-pop sound coming from the muffler. I have tried a different fuel and fuel injector cleaner but it continues to do the same thing. What's the solution?

A: Think about this logically. You have a serious drivability problem and your Check Engine Light comes on. What do you do when you have a serious drivability problem and your Check Engine Light is on? You take it to the shop to have the problem diagnosed on a computer just like it says to do in your owners manual. You won't get any answers here, only guesses, which is no better than you have been doing on your own. You need to take it to the shop. PS Don't take it to a parts store. They don't do "diagnostics". They do "code readings" which are one step above useless and explains why they are free, then they try to sell you parts that usually won't fix the problem because they have not actually diagnosed anything. Q: 2002 Nissan Sentra Spec-v with higher mileage wondering what you think?
Hey, I have been looking into a 2002 Nissan Sentra Spec-V with 90,000 miles. Apparently "babied" the whole way. I am not too familiar with Nissan lifespans, and wonder what you guys(or girls) think about this one. Is it worth getting for around $7000? and how long would you guess it would last? I know many factors affect the lifespan but I'm just looking for a nice sporty affordable car and this seems to fit the bill. Thanks in advance!

A: 1. The 2002 Sentra is NOT a sporty car. No, being a Spec-V does not make it more sporty. 2. A car like that, has not been "babied." Ferrari's are babied. Porsches. Nissans, especially 4-door ugly sedans, are driven till they die. 3. 90,000 miles on basically a 5 year old car, equals 18,000 miles a year. The national average is around 12,000, so this car has been driven A LOT. You don't get that many miles on a car, by taking it easy on it. 4. Consumer Auto rates the car at around $7000 if it's pretty much flawless. I guarantee you, the one you're looking at, is not. I wouldn't pay more than around $5500. 5. Like you said, a lot of factors affect lifespan. There's no way to answer that. If you don't maintain it, it might last a month. If you maintain it like a child, it might last 30 years. Good luck.

I am trying to take off the nissan symbols on my 2002 spec v. I have taken all of the back and side symbols off but I am having trouble with the front nissan symbol. It is on the grill and I opened up the hood and tried to take it of from inside, but the plastic pecies will not bend or break off. Someone please help me I need that symbol off.

A: Blow dryers normally work. Most of the emblems are glued on.

Q: Is it possible to install power windows in 2002 Nissan Sentra XE?
I'm getting a hand-me-down car from my grandpa and it's a 2002 Sentra XE. The only problem I have with the car is that the windows are manual. Is there any possibility to install power windows and the switch into the car because it is manually operated with the knob. Would they have to totally replace the car or what? Can someone explain how they would do this and an estimate on how much it would cost? Very much appreciated!! i meant the doors not car lol

A: It would be pretty expensive. You would spend at least $300 per window motor and around $65 per window regulator. Then you would have to replace all the door panels so you could put the window switches in them. And just the driver's master window switch is around $110. The other switches are around $11 each. Then you have to deal with the wiring, fuses, relays that need to be installed. You might even have to replace the BCM with one that controls power windows. Labor alone would be enough to break a person. It wouldn't be worth it.

Q: I have a 2002 Nissan Sentra that will crank, but will not start?
I have a 2002 Nissan Sentra that has a new battery that will crank, but will not start

A: First thing I would check is the Crankshaft position sensor. If it stops working your car will not start. If it is good check the fuel pump

Q: Where is the coolant temperature sensor on a 2002 Nissan Sentra?
After researching the "check engine" light for my 2002 Nissan Sentra, I've determined that the thermostat and coolant temperature sensor needed to be replaced. I swapped out the old thermostat for a new one, but I am having difficulty locating this coolant temperature sensor. I know absolutely nothing about car engines, and I keep on hearing more about the intake manifold and how it's located near the fuel pressure regulator. I also have a Haines manual for my car, but the picture it provides is not helpful (3-7, figures 9.3a and 9.3b, to be specific). If anyone has any more specifics about the location of this, that would be MOST APPRECIATED! I went to Aamco and they quoted me at $200 to replace both parts. When I went to a local car parts store, I bought both parts for less than $40 and the thermostat replacement was very simple. It looks about the same for the coolant temperature sensor, I just can't find the dang thing! Thanks for any help and clarification on this!!! That's exactly it, JP. I came up with a P0128 error and it was recommended that I replace both things because that would certainly take care of the problem.

A: You did not see it? On the 1.8 liter engine behind the alternator screwed into the Cly head that is the ECT (engine coolant temp sensor) sensor it has two wires. The temp sender for water temp instrument cluster is on the other side of the exhaust manifold and has only one wire. ECT codes are P0117 and P0118 indicates either to low voltage shorted or to high voltage open circuit. Or did your car produce a Thermostat function code P0128 and the heater is not getting hot?

I have a 2002 Nissan Sentra. We had the head gasket crack. The Mechanic had no explanation on why it cracked. It never overheated or we never noticed it. Could using gas with Ethanol cause it to burn hotter and crack the gasket?

A: it could if there was to much ethonal

Q: Can u get a nissan altima supercharger to fit in a 2002 sentra se r?
Is there any possible way to get a nissan altima factory supercharger to fit in a 2002 nissan sentra se r (not spec v) automatic. Just curious. and if it is possible what adjustments need to be made and additional hardware do i need. Thanks Alot

A: There is no off-the-shelf supercharger that will fit an Altima or Sentra. They are all pretty much custom-made. Also, no Nissan Altima/Maxima ever had a supercharger from factory. You might be thinking of the Eaton supercharger optional on the Xterra if I remember correctly? You'll have to go aftermarket and as Jon Paul said, the transmission might give.
