Im interested in purchasing a 2005 nissan sentra 2.5 SE-R but it was in a flood and the tried to start it and it screwed up the engine rod. I can Get a used engine and transmission for $1100 and the car for $3500 IS this worth fixing?? And why does the engine rod go bad??? Thanks. $1100 is for the engine and trans only. I can have it put in for free due to my uncle being a mechanic.

A: water doesn't compress - is why the con rod is now no good. If that 1100 is the engine and trans FITTED, then go for it. if not, probably not worth it.

Q: How do you tighten up the emergency brake on a 2005 Nissan Sentra. I can pull it back the whole way.?
I can pull the e-brake back the whole way. Before it would be tight after 9 or 10 clicks. When I pull back on it now it gets tight on the 17th click which is almost the whole way back.

A: The cable from the handle in the car, splits and goes to both rear tires. There is a tightening bolt on each cable behind the rear tires

A: If its just your key fob put the key in the ignition and take it out in out in out in out in out until your turn signals blink then hold the unlock (or is it the lock button) for like 5 seconds step out the car and lock the doors manually close the door and push unlock on the fob and it should work forgot if you hold lock or unlock when the lights flash oh and lock the door when your inside or the lights wont flash.

A: find a local junkyard and pop one out, they will not charge more then a couple of bucks.

Q: How do I eject my CD out of my 2005 Nissan Sentra? It makes a clicking noise.?
When I press the eject button it makes a really fast clicking sound and the cd shuts off and the radio comes on. Then the cd won't play. If I shut the car off and restart it the cd plays fine. What is that clicking noise and how do I get the cd out?

A: Sounds to me the eject mechanism has failed. Car is probably out of warranty, but the Nissan dealer might be able to give you some advice on how to remove the cd.

A: Nitrous. Short of that, you'd need intake, headers, exhaust, pullys, cams, fuel pump, and ecu. Thats close to $2000 for decent parts, not ebay crap. Nitrous is the cheapest way to go, maybe $500 or $600. Turbo would run you about $3000, and get you at least 75 hp more to the wheels, if you know about turbo kits and what you need and how to install it, you can get there for under $1200.
