A: I do everything to have brighter lights not less light. The company link only shows blue yellow and two levels smoke colored lens covers. If you don't drive at night and want extra color (not purple) it might be ok. Some bulb and blue colored lens overlay may make purplish color off angle. If you place overlays and the lens gets damaged each headlight costs $165. The second link are not actual HID bulbs those have a transformer box. Real HIDS are much more expensive and take several seconds to warm up for full brightness

Q: my 2008 nissan sentra makes a ticking noise when making a turn
Hi, I just bought a new 2008 nissan sentra 2.0S two days ago. when i make the first two turns it makes a ticking noise, which is hardly noticalbe, but after the first two turns i dont hear tht sound. i am just a little concerned since its a new car.

A: As you may understand it is very hard to diagnose a sound over the internet. It is under warranty and you should take it to your dealer and have them look at it. It will not cost you a dime just the time.

Q: Where do I go to / How do I fix an interior door panel that's broken or shifted on a 2008 Nissan Sentra? ?
My girlfriend slammed the passenger side door too hard and then couldn't open the door. When I tried opening it from the inside, it looks like the plastic interior door panel is jammed in between the door preventing it from opening very far. Any ideas?

A: 2008 shouldn't that still be under warranty? well you can try a body shop possible. call the dealer for a replacement price. even so that's hard to find. most of the time the interior panel is held on by number of door clips and screws. sometimes its held on by molded fingers on the panel. i don't know which style you have but you can replace clips on a clipped panel (dealer part of course). or you can find a hidden spot on the finger model and run a short screw through it (ugly) providing its not side air bag. which you CANNOT DO if it is side airbag.

Not the SE-R Spec-V, just the SE-R?

A: You'll need to consult your Nissan dealer. I don't have any idea if it is a full sized 225 / 45 /17 or a skinny stow -a-way short distance spare.

Q: What's the 0-60 time of a 2008 Nissan Sentra SE-R and is it a nice car?
I like how it looks, I like the price. Unfortunately there's not very much trunk room, and the seats don't fold down so it's not so practical.

A: I have a 2007 SE-R spec V (same as 2008) Quoted 0-60 is 6.7S .1 faster than Civic Si however I think thats fairly conservative, and given a decent grippy road and decent shifting it can easily better that. torque steers like a pig though. The trunk is pretty huge even though it doesnt fold - and I like the appearance much beyond all of the Blah similar price range vehicles Corollas, Cobalts , G5 etc - look so dated. Civic isnt too bad but paying extra just because its a honda - and lets face it theres a million of them out there.

what do you think about them. Are they good cars? good engines and mileage?

A: i thinkt the new sentras are decent cars. Im not a fan of their new looks, i think they are starting to go downhill just like the impreza. but interms of reliability, i know that my brothers g35(nissan owns it) has been running for over 100,000 miles and its in tip top shape, hasn't missed a beat. So for reliability, i would say its great. and by the way to the above poster. American cars, in terms of reliability are crap. no wonder people are losing all their jobs because the americans cant come up with a decent car. Everyone is going with either japenese, european, or german, and i wouldn't blame them.

Q: I want to but a pimped out grille for my 2008 nissan sentra. How much will it cost to have a mechanic install?
I simply cannot do it myself. Has anyone paid a mechanic to install a grille?

A: A grill is easy to install. Anyone who charges you more than $50 in labor is probably taking advantage of you. How much you pay for the grill depends on how pimped out you want to go. I would look around on Ebay for the type of grill you want then take it to your installer.

Q: Used Car Value for a 2008 Nissan Sentra?
I want to trade in my 2008 Nissan Sentra however I have been trying to lookup the trade in value of it and I can't find it anywhere. I have tried KBB, Black Book, and NADA. Does anyone have any suggestions.

A: You won't find anything in the books until later in the year. Generally speaking these books are not helpful in determining trade-in value. Most dealers will only offer what they believe they can get at auction even for such a new car. New car sales are expected to be down again this year. For your situation, if you know the invoice price for the Sentra use that as your base (not your purchase price). Subtract 3% of this total to account for the dealer holdback. Then subtract $0.10 per mile on the odometer. If there are any rebates currently being offered on the Sentra, subtract it. This should give you a sense of what to expect when you trade in your vehicle. If you have more information on your Sentra (model and options), i can help you find the invoice numbers.

I just bought a 2008 Nissan Sentra SL and I wanted the 2008 Nissan Sentra SE-R. One of the fetures I likes better were the tail lights. Can I replace mine with SE-R tail lights. I want to make my car look as close to the SE-R as possable.

I own a 2008 Nissan Sentra S, its 6 speed, stock, I want to make my sentra a little louder , is it possible to install the cat-back on a 2008 nissan sentra S. I know its possible to install on a SE-R or Spec V but will there be problems installing it on S model. Or what are some other exhaust systems that are good.

A: Since the car is relatively new you might have a hard time finding a pre-made system. You might be better off just going to your local exhaust shop and having them make you a custom cat back exhaust.
