Q: 2009 Nissan Murano or 2008 Ford Edge?
I am trading in my 2007 Nissan Sentra, and I've narrowed it down to two vehicles, the 2008 Ford Edge, and the 2009 Nissan Murano.
They get about the same MPG, and they are both basically the same size, and shape.
I like everything about them both, but am having serious trouble deciding on one.
Which would you recommend?
PLEASE, no answers saying, "Buy American." I honestly don't care if it's American made or not, so I am NOT taking that into consideration.
Thank you!
A: Take them for a test drive. Maybe someones opinion are not your opinions. IMHO, I go to the dealer and test drive both of them and see what deal I can get out of them. Anyway, I am not a fan of these types of vehicles also I am not a tree hugger either. I have no purpose for them.
While are you debating the car, ask the dealer how much for maintenance. Read the Owner's Manual to see what can you do or they have to do. Ask for insurance, people forget to ask those questions too. Sometimes the up keep is more $$$ than the vehicle itself. And see how much will be to operate the vehicle per month or year. It will be a big jump (expense) from a Sentra to some like this.
Good luck.
Q: Why are illegals not being deported after 1st drunk driving arrest now 16yo lay dead?
The driver accused in November of killing a 16-year-old Mesa girl on her way to meet her marching band for the Gilbert Days Parade had a blood-alcohol content of .19 - more than twice the legal limit, according to a Mesa police investigation.
Manuel Contreras-Galdean, 32, was arrested Nov. 15 and charged with manslaughter and aggravated assault in connection with the early morning collision that severely injured and later killed Kelly Tracy, 16, a sophomore at Gilbert's Highland High School.
Contreras-Galdean has pleaded not guilty to the charges. Police have said Contreras-Galdean told them he has been living in the country illegally for several years, and he was placed on an immigration hold. He is being held at Maricopa County Jail without bond
According to the report, officers at the scene reported he smelled of alcohol and they saw "several beer cans" in Contreras-Galdean's truck, a 1997 Dodge Ram.
Investigators have said that around 6:15 a.m. that day, Contreras-Galdean was headed eastbound on Guadalupe Road when he turned left on Sossaman Road in front of Matthew Tracy, 17, who was driving his sister in a 1994 Nissan Sentra west on Guadalupe Road. Contreras-Galdean struck the brother and sister nearly head-on, police said.
The brother and sister were on their way to meet with the Highland High School band that morning to perform in the Gilbert Days Parade. The crash occurred about a mile from the school.
Kelly suffered head and leg injuries and died later that morning at Maricopa County Medical Center as doctors were trying to save her life, police said.
Her brother, Matthew Tracy, a senior at Highland High, suffered facial abrasions, a hand injury and cracked ribs, police said.
Police said Galdean-Contreras was previously arrested at least twice on suspicion of drunken driving. He was stopped by Tempe police in 2007 and in 2001 by the Utah Highway Patrol in Salt Lake City. He was convicted in the Utah case.

A: I'm wondering why they aren't deported when caught as the cause of a car wreck with no insurance and no license neverless this crud!
Q: Why doesn't Honda make a Civic Si in automatic to compete with: http://www.nissanusa.com/se-r/index.html?
Honda Civic Si vs. Nissan Sentra Se-R
Civic Si- no automatic/ Sentra Se-R- manual & automatic
Sports/Race cars
Sentra Se-R manual- 200 hp/ automatic- 177 hp
Regular Sentra- 140 hp
Civic Si manual- 198 hp/ automatic- ???
Regular Civic- 140 hp
An automatic Civic Si makes sense, please develop for 2009.
A: You should be tied to a tree and whipped 3 times with a razor strap for even suggesting that. You compare it to a car that is NOTORIOUS for problems. The Sentra SE-R is GARBAGE, ask anyone that has owned one for more than a few years. You also notice there is a 23 HP differential between the automatic and manual right? Well thats the SAME TRIM model the Civic you are comparing it to is the EX model and is about $7000 LESS than the SI. Automatics are and should be installed on basic model cars, NOT sports cars. I think that ANY sports car, ( corvettes, lamboghinis, race package cars like the SE-R, SI,) should ONLY come in manual, if you can't drive one, then you don't need a "sports car".
Q: I am doing research on my fave car. So does anybody remember how the Nissan Maxima came into being?
I say it was birthed initially by Datsun, who then became Nissan. The Maxima to me is hands down the best built car around. I remember it was not called the Maxima at first, but later came into that name after Datsun. Also, I thought it was called the Salene in Japan and that was the racing version. Also, Maximas have been built with Manual transmissions, but not the 2009, which is a beast. Anyone else out there as enthralled with the Maxima as I am? If so throw some knowledge my way! I have a babymax (sentra) for now. love the 1997 through 99 maximas too
A: The Max is a very well done car. In the late 80's, early 90's Nissan dubbed it the "4DSC", or 4 Door Sports Car.
Here is a Wiki page with lots of info.

Q: which car to choose?
1) 2007 honda civic sedan LX
http://www.canadiandriver.com/buyers-guide/2007/honda/civic.php
2) 2007 nissan sentra S
http://www.canadiandriver.com/buyers-guide/2007/nissan/sentra.php
3) 2009 toyota corolla LE
http://www.canadiandriver.com/buyers-guide/2009/toyota/corolla.php
keep in mind the corolla is the most expensive, and brand new.
the honda and nissan are used but relatively new, and are basically the same price.
A: I would go for the Honda new or used. Though the Honda is pretty much just as reliable as the Toyota, the Honda is sportier, better looking, and just more fun in general. I am just waring you, the Honda gets a good MPG, but out of your list, the Toyota gets the best.
Q: out of the three cars that i picked, which would you choose for a first car?
my dad works at nissan, so we would get an discount..remember that.
2009 Nissan Altima Sedan 2.5S--6 cyl. 32 mpg.
--$21,735
2008 Nissan Sentra 2.0S--6 cyl. 33 mpg.
--$18,955
2008 Mazda3 iSport 4-door--4 cyl. 24/32 mpg. (city/hwy)
--$15,865
here's my debate..
the mazda has a lower price..but bad gas milage.
the sedan has a hefty price..but good gas milage.
the sentra has a okay price..but good gas milage.
so which would you pick?
i'm going more towards the sentra.
A: hI
i recommend getting the nissan sentra honestly. the gas is good especially if you dont run the hell out of it when driving(stepping on the gas and taking turns sharply without slowing down and so on). nissan is far better then mazda. so either nissan would be good actually. the sentra is nice for any crowd as well as the altima. with the sentra you can do alot of after market stuff to it and the altima is good to keep basic but, has a few options for after market stuff as well. overall i would recommend the sentra for pricing but, stay with nissan in the end
Q: How do I remove radio from the dash in a 2003 Nissan Sentra?
I searched the web but the only thing I could find was a post on Edmunds forum here http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/WebX?14@@.ee9e71f/2009
I got part way through the instructions the one member posted there and I got stuck on step 6.
He said the instructions he posted were from memory but he had a diagram which he supposedly easily found on the web and would post the URL later once he found it but he never did post it. That was the only post he ever made on that forum. I tried PMing him through the forum with no luck.
Anyone know of a place to get diagrams or instructions for this kind of thing (preferrably free)?
Nevermind. I figured it all out. It's quite easy and you don't even need to use tools much of the time. I took step by step pictures and will be posting the instructions for all you otehr DIY 2003 Sentra owners at http://www.securenetpages.com/2003-sentra-radio/
A: if I was you I would take it to a car audio shop so it will save you time and money, just in case something broke
Q: Nissan Sentra or Toyota Corolla?
2008 Nissan Sentra
OR
2009 Toyota Corolla
I'm getting my license very soon and am going to get a car (first car)
The Sentra would be a lot cheaper because it's used..but maybe the Corolla is worth the extra money??..(safety is the most important thing!)
Oh and, it snows here so keep that in mind too
If i got the 2008 Sentra..it would have to be red because that's the only 2008 Sentra they have at my nearby dealership
but the 2009 Corolla I would get the dark gray or silver :)
thanks for the help!! :)
A: The Toyota Corolla has a long list of quality distinctions. It is on:
1. Consumer Reports' 2008 list of the Best of the Best,
2. AutoOnInfo.net's very exclusive lists of the Best of 2001, Best of 2002, Best of 2003, and Best of 2004 (the most recent year for which the best lists have been composed),
3. AutoOnInfo.net's list of Best Automobiles of 2009, with a Composite Reliability Score of +.90 on a scale of -1.00 to +1.00,
4. AutoOnInfo.net's list of Best Automobiles of 2008, with a Composite Reliability Score of +1.00 on a scale of -1.00 to +1.00,
5. AutoOnInfo.net's list of Automobiles with Best Transmission Reliability, with a Transmission Reliability Score of +.88 on a scale of -1.00 to +1.00.
And the manual transmission version of the Corolla is on ACEEE's list of the Greenest Dozen, with a Green Score of 45 and with an EPA estimated fuel efficiency of 28 miles per gallon in city and 37 miles per gallon on highway. The automatic transmission version is close behind, with an EPA estimated fuel efficiency of 26 miles per gallon in city and 35 miles per gallon on highway.
The Nissan Sentra holds none of the above quality distinctions.
Finally, the 5-year Reliability Percentrank average of the Nissan Sentra is .54 (on a scale of 0.00 to 1.00), while the 5-year average of the Toyota Corolla is .93. For reference, Toyota's overall 5-year Reliability Percentrank average is .89, Honda's is .84, Nissan's is .70, and General Motors' is .31.
Q: "2008 NISSAN SENTRA S" or "2009 TOYOTA COROLLA LE"?
http://www.nissanusa.com/sentra/
http://www.toyota.com/corolla/
its so hard to choose...especially when the prices are so close (sentra is $1000 more) no biggy though. which one ?
A: I would go for the Corolla.
I recently had been through the car shopping process and ended up buying the Toyota Corolla S actually. It's not the LE, but i definately suggest using the $1000 extra that you would spend on the Sentra to get the S model.
I test drove:
1. Nissan Sentra
2. Nissan Versa HB
3. Chevy Malibu
4. Ford Focus
5. Mitsubishi Lancer
6. VW Jetta
7. Mazda 3
8. Toyota Corolla LE
9. Toyota Corolla S
I was actually torn between the Corolla and the Lancer.
I'll tell you why I didn't like the Sentra -
1. It felt really cheap. The interior is just horrible.
2. The seats were also terrible. I did not like the material at all.
3. Don't like the look.
4. Felt really small
So I completely x-ed that car out. I actually preferred the Versa than the Sentra.
As far as the LE, I bought the S model instead because the interior is alot nicer and hence the name, it had a more sportier look, complete with body kit, without having to go out to spend the extra to get it done.
Also, the S only comes with Black interior, which looks alot better than the Tan.
The Corolla is alot more fun to drive.
Decisions! Decisions! Decisions!
Good luck with whatever you decide.I
Q: 2008/2009 Nissan Sentra?
About how much could expect to pay for one?
i want the keyless start
alloy wheels
fog lights
also anyone who owns one how do you like it?
Thanks
A: I bought a Nissan Sentra S in June this year. It's a very nice car & it looks good. There's a pic of it on my 360. Anyway, I have the options you listed. I like the key less entry. As long as I keep the key fob in my pocket, I can lock/unlock the car & start it w/o taking the keys out. Very nice. The aluminum wheels look sharp & my car does have the fog lights which are standard on the S & SL trim levels. Go ahead and ask the dealer for an 09 model. There are very few 08's left.
Q: 2009 Honda Fit Sport or Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V?
I ordered a Fit Sport Manual and it will be here in the next month but just found out I could purchase a brand new or nearly new Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V for the same price as the fit I ordered. Would the extra gas mileage be worth it for the fit or would I just be getting so much more car for the money? Also I am not sure on the reliabilty of Nissan I do know Honda has great reliability. What would be the smartest purchase?
A: Well, the Sentra is just as reliable as the Fit in my opinion (many would disagree, I believe the quality of Honda has lacked for the past few years) and it's much faster than the Fit "Sport" ( it's just an apperance package, no gains in power over the regular fit, still 118 little horsies vs. the ser spec-v's 200 hp) but the mpg's on the Sentra aren't up to par with the Fit. Depends on what you want, power(you WILL NOT get this with the Fit and will get some with the Sentra) or economy, Honda name, resale value, etc. (which you'll get with the Fit).
