Q: Would You accept this Trade?
Would you trade my 1991 nissan 300zx for a 1988 skyline gts

A: What country are you in? Here in NZ we have plenty of skylines, considerably less Zeds. Although worldwide the Zed is acknowledged as the premium Nissan sportscar, if the Skyline is a GTS-t or similar turbo beast, then perhaps a trade would be OK. But not an '88 GTS. Not me, anyway. The Skyline is purely for afficianados, whereas the Zed32 is appreciated by everyone. Q: Skyline GTS-T: Is This Car Worth It?
I'm looking for a car, and I came across a 1991 Nissan Skyline R32 GTS-T. It's in mint condition. I have a couple of questions though, before buying it...First one is, how hard is it to drive a RHD car (in terms of passing, changing lanes, turning, etc.)? Is it suitable for a daily driver (as well as being (somewhat) easy to drive, fuel efficient, safe)? Is it suitable for longer trips (4+ hours)? Is it reliable/are there any problems that I should watch out for? Are the back seats suitable for 2 adult-sized people?

A: http://www.skylineowners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=69362&highlight=buying+guide Link above is the buyers guide to buying a skyline a must for any turboed car,its a free forum and without it my skyline life would be confusing. The R32 gts-t is a great car and room wise great for any car and even more so for a coupe. Most people will answer by saying its small, well no room is a supra or rx7. The reason we bought this version is its more family friendly.Iam married with two children not babies, and we needed a car which would take the two children on booster seats and a spare adult in the back and these do just that,it had even 3 adults in the back(without children i may add)and they where comfy enough. WE took the car for a 2000 mile trip to visit a friend abroad, the car was roomy enough for us to carry all our stuff to feel comfy for us all to have room to stretch and even sleep in the car.And i got there with no back pains whatsoever which is good as years ago i slipped my disc and some cars just kill my back. Petrol wise it was great not diesel distance, but we was very impressed with the mpg and it was never a worry or issue. Problems well serviced and look after these cars will keep going and going.Give the car a regular oil change with decent oil.and change cam-belt tensioners etc when needed, also filter ie oil fuel, and as said use only decent oil. So overall back seats comfy for 2 adults easy and is classed as 5 seater against the GTR which is a 4 seater and has a rear bucket type seat for two people. Petrol is fine and i found deff cheap to run for the car it is. easy to drive ours is a daily car with school runs and taking friends out and a huge boot space. comfy for long journeys with leg room front and back. Its not infinti i30 room where the back passengers are just visible but deff roomy and never had people complain from the back.. I drive in a RHD country but drive in LHD countries so similar i find it easy to change my way of driving and had no problems at all, with tilting mirrors out further when lane changing or getting a small blind spot mirror.but again no real problems and at the end of the day there's plenty of owners of RHD or LHD cars in different countries driving all the time with no problems. Great car go for it before they become really old so enjoy there fun now and parts are easy to get with the net .

Q: Nissan, Mazda and Toyota!!! I need Help deciding on what to get.. Technicians advice is greatly appreciated!!!
I am looking at getting either one of these----- 1, 1992 NISSAN FAIRLADY Z TWIN TURBO 2, 1992 Toyota Soarer 1JZ TWIN TURBO 3, 1992 RX7 Twin turbo or single 4, 1991 Nissan Skyline GT-R or GTS They all have between 50,ooo mi and 88,ooo Mi some have new parts like timing belts and clutches.... Any known problems to watch for?? I was advised to ask about Apex seals or ? on the RX7. Any info is great Thanks! I actually live in Canada, the Importing here is awesome... I can get all those models for under 12,000 CDN

A: I'm partial to the RX-7; but that's just me. I'd go over them all carefully and take the one that looks like it's been best cared for. The Apex seals on the rotary engine can stick and cause low compression / hard starting, especially after a long storage period. You can check for this by running a compression check. Use a pressure gage WITHOUT a check valve. You should get even pressure pulses from all three chambers on each rotor. If you get two low pulses and one higher, then you have one apex seal stuck. A good soaking in WD-40 or liquid wrench should free it up without having to disassemble the engine. Another thing to watch for is the small oil lines from the oil metering pump can gum up and clog if they're idle a long time.

Q: how much would it be to make a Canadian skyline to be legal in USA?
it is a 1991 nissan skyline

A: That's not a Canadian Skyline... it's a Japanese one imported to Canada Swapping VINs is risky business... get into an accident and you'll have your insurance company, the DMV and just about anybody else on your back.... good luck

Q: Nissan skyline ? i live in canada are they street legal i want to buy one , but i want to use it as a daily?
i want to use it as a daily driver, i read some things one yahoo answers saying that you cannot drive skylines etc , i was planning on buying a 1991 nissan skyline of local classifieds and i am not sure if i can drive them here in ontario, if u own a nissan skyline in canada please feel free to give me the info that i need , i really wanted to get a skyline as my first car but this controversy has really messed up my brain , please clear up my thoughs

A: If you go back 15 years from now, that is the newest model Skyline that you can import. The U.S. has a 25 year rule. So, 15 years back from 2008 would be 1993. You are eligible to buy legaly drive an R32 and back. Rest assured that a 1991 is completely legal to own. As far as registering it, I have no clue as I don't live in Canada. Come visit NICOclub.com and check our Skyline forum.

Q: nissan skyline help please?
im wondering how a 1991 nissan skyline gtr twin turbo is like is it a good car is it reliable im looking how a review of it from someone that knows about this car because im planning to buy one and i need it to be good in winter too thanks but its not in canada where i live and why is it illegal there?

A: The car is not illegal. You have to get a license and have it imported to the US (or wherever you live) And to the guy that said that it's illegal because it can outrun a cop car...you're an idiot. If that were the case Street bikes, Z06's, Vipers, ect would ALL be illegal. Think about what you just said, you'll slap yourself.

Q: i bought a racing chip for a nissan skyline 1991 and didn`t get the instruction to install it can anyone help?
it`s a nissan skyline 1991, a RB20DET turbo motor

A: you can check with tahan

Q: which do u prefer 1991 nissan skyline r32 or 1992 nissan 240sx?

A: If you gonna be using it for drifting 240SX would be the better option, the R32 is not so good, for drift...and 240SX looks better, you know..

Q: 1991 nissan skyline r32 or 1992 nissan 240sx?

A: What's the question? Which do I prefer? Which has more pistons? Which can come with HICAS? (trick question - both can) Which has more different trim levels? (R32) Please clarify.

Q: what are the torque settings on the camshaft fixing bolts on a Nissan skyline rb20 twin cam 1991?

A: http://www.skylineowners.com/forum/index.php Best place to ask as has owners from all over the world and many folks building there skyline.etc

Q: Can a R34 Nissan Skyline GTR engine fit into a 1991 Nissan Maxima?
I've been doing a little upgrading to my car (The first car I ever owned, got it in high school back in 1996 and couldnt let it go, now my daily driver is a 2004 deville) and ran across a site that sells remaned skyline engines, I know that those are high performance and thought to myself maybe if i bought one of those I could save money instead of upgrading my current engine, I know that the 1996 - 2002 gtr's are 4wd and a maxima is front wheel drive but the engines being sold comes complete with the tranny and all. I just wanna know if it will be a good fit and a better choice.

A: Back in the day when i owned an a32 maxima i was one hunt for more power and i can across a chap running one with an R32 GTR engine conversion,on (cardomain.com). But there is some good power to be gained from the maxima's engine. I spoke to the owner of the maxima on the link he is one the maxima forums and nice to talk to. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=esP-1kjAQjs and his runs at some nice power. Engine wise the RB25det skyline engine runs stock at 250bhp and on the R34 Neo rb25det engine runs stock at 280bhp,these are great single turbo engines and can see GTR power and cheaper to buy and run on RWD Skyline versions.

Q: How reliable would a 1991 nissan skyline gts type m be with low milage?
its got 113000km and looks like it is in good shape, its turbo

A: Find out when the timing belt/chain was last serviced. If it has been replaced recently it should be good to go, since that is the main thing that will fubar your engine.

Q: can i convert a 1991 nissan skyline gts to left hand drive?

A: Great cars ,350z are great cars but lets not forget about how great the skyline is or is every owner around the world wrong. Yes you must be able to as i have seen some custom ones converted, although you dont have to legally,so why bother if its the driving .then i wouldnt worry as i drove mine in a foreign country with opposite side driving and found no probs at all. Parts wise John paul anywhere most UK folks buy the bits from the US and there is many sellers there, and loads in the UK and AUS parts are easy to find,Nissan even have them on shelf here or can easily order them. Conversion wise Nissan never made the left hand drive version so it would be custom made.Maybe the early Ps13 180sx would fit as many parts are similar to the R32. And i have had the both and they feel very much like the same car in many ways also. Gts-t can be made to reach the same as a GTR and a cheaper base price.
