Q: Nissan xterra tire pressure light problems?
I have a 2007 nissan xterra se, obviouisly. A couple of days ago my tire pressure monitor light came on, so i checked the tire pressure and filled it back up to 35psi. The light didnt go away, but at the time i thought that it would after a bit, but its been like a week now and just a few hours ago i rechecked my tires and they're still 35psi but the light still wont go away!!!
How do i make the light go away?
and is 35psi the right psi?
A: The low tire pressure warning light does not automatically turn off when the tire pressure is adjusted. After the tire is inflated to the recommended pressure, the vehicle must be driven at speeds above 16 MPH (25 km/h) for several minutes to activate the TPMS and turn off the low tire pressure warning light. Use a tire pressure gauge to check the tire pressure.
The spare tire often has a sensor in it too. Also ALL the tires need to be within 2 pounds of eash other. A regular tire pressure guage is NOT accurate enough, you need a digital gauge. Not a crappy one either...
Q: Rattles & squeaking in front end of new 2007 Nissan Xterra?
I have a 2007 Nissan Xterra with about 7800 miles. I had the tires rotated for the first time yesterday along with an oil change, 7500 mile check and now today my front end is rattling and sqeaking when ever I hit a bump, crack in the road. I'm not driving fast, never have hit anything, I go slow over bump, speed bumps etc. Please tell what can be causing this. I'm totally upset now. People are staring when I drive it due to the noise it is making. A brand new vehicle shouldn't do this. Please advise. Oh I had the vehicle service at a local dealership...
Xterra did not have tires balanced, I believe the dealership just rotated the tires only. The dealership is now trying to tell me that it is possible the hood is making the noise, needs adjustment. This vehicle was fine until they touch it. Now on every bump, crack, uneven pavement the front end is squeaking/ rattling. This vehicle is only 4 months old. I'm scared that the dealership will take advantage of me because I'm a woman. They are the closest dealership. the next one is 1 hour away.
Need advice fast before going to dealership tomorrow.
A: Could just be a faulty shop. Being that your exterra is relatively new, the dealer should be happy to check it out and fix it for free.
Had a faulty shock on my new frontier, made noises when I would hit bumps.

Q: how's the 2007 Nissan xterra compared to the 2004 version?
Had the 04 nissan xterra, traded it for murano after 4 months. I luv the new design of the xterra especially since it has more of the guy look than the murano. Is there a big improvement from the 04 xterra to the 07? should I wait for the 08'?
A: The difference between the 04 and 07 Xterra is huge. I have an 04 V6 and have test driven an 06 (same as 07). Power and performance is much better in the second generation Xterras (180hp V6 vs. 261hp V6.), which has the VQ series engine, (the 04 has the VG series). The new Xterra also has a fully boxed ladder frame (a modified version of the the F-Alpha Titan truck frame), making it more rigid and a better offroad vehicle with a better front suspension over the 04. The 07 also comes in the Off Road package which is good if thats what you intend to do. Overall it's a much better buy; it has a more aggressive stance and look, a much more powerful engine, it also has variable valve timing (which will give you better performance and fuel economy, the 04 does not). For the 07 you can get a rear locking diff, with the OF package and a Dana axle if you choose the manual. Overall it is a much better vehicle than the 04 and earlier models. The 08 version of the Xterra will probably be the exact same as the 07, but with minor adjustments. You should also look at a Crew Cab Frontier which is essentially a truck version of the Xterra, but has a nicer ride and a better look to it.
Q: What is the oil capactiy of the 2007 Nissan Xterra?

Q: 5W50 Synthetic Oil in my 2007 Nissan Xterra?
I recently did my oil change and used 5W50 synthetic oil instead of the 5w30 I thought I was using. I live in London, Ontario and it is getting colder outside as the winter season progresses. Should I get the 5w50 oil out before my next oil change or should I replace it right away with the 5W30 I should have used? The vehicle currently has 8000 kms on it.
Thanks. Not the answer I was hoping for but one I am prepared to live with!! Thanks again.
A: I live in Detroit. Same conditions No? Do not use other oils , only what is recommended from Nissan. I have my Xterra 2001. Never used other oil , only 5w30. It has 80.000 and is perfect. Never had any problem.

Q: 2007 Nissan Xterra rear suspension question?
Hey, I'm looking at a newer vehicle and the ones I've come down to are the 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the 2007 Nissan Xterra X. Both are great vehicles but I would like to find out some information on the rear suspension on the 2007 Xterre. I've seen some posts about it makes some noise or even sends vibration through to the cab because of the bushings used, is this true to some extent or just people being to picky that were used to driving a car or something. I'm leaning toward the Xterra since it has that good V6 4.0L with a higher towing rating at 5000lbs as opposed to the V6 Jeep of 3500lbs. Are there any major problem that are common to the 2007 Xterra that anybody is aware of.
A: No problems with my 07 X.....It is rugged and occasionally you hear rattles but that is with every car. This is my first Nissan and SUV and I love the damn car. Get one!

I need to install an after market cd player. The assembly appears to be on piece but I can't find any screws or even a hint on which direction to pull on it to pry it off; to get to the factory cd player so that I can install the new one.
A: Top coin tray with rubber mat remove mat pull up and rearward after removing the #2 philips screw. Then pull rear ward the center stack with the two center vents the whole panel with the A/C controls pops off held in with spring clips then the metal frame work around the radio is held to the dash with 4 more #2 philips screws and the brackets are held to the radio with 4 #20 torx pan head fasteners. Here is the problem audio Visual switch is made into the dash with the AC heater controls. So make sure there is a Aftermarket dash unit before even starting the whole process.
Q: Does the 2007 Nissan Xterra 4x2 give anyone problems while driving in inclement weather?
I ask this b/c of the rear drive. Please help I am looking into buying one.
A: If you get a 4x4 you'll be just fine, it has been great and everyone I know who owns one is happy with it. If you get in 2wd get the ABLS option, that way you wont worry about the rear tires losing grip. I have a Pathfinder 4x2 and never got stuck in snow.
